April 24, 1985. Winnipeg, CANADA. The team of Nick Bockwinkel and Ray "The Crippler" Stevens take on the team of Larry "The Axe" Hennig and Curt Hennig. Pre-match interviews included
Whoever set up the ring in Winnipeg traditionally didn't understand thing one about optics. That ugly ass white ring with the mismatched ropes and odd looking turnbuckle setup was a world class fail. Im very surprised that Verne didn't demand a better production value because hands down nothing was nicer than THIS here AWA ring with the super nice canvas and color coordinated blue and red turnbuckles and ropes. Production value and optics are critical when it comes to Pro Wrestling. Winnipeg shows looked like dogshit. But this was nice.
Ironically, this is exactly around the time when Hogan was about to change his entrance theme due to copyright and having to plug the Rock n Wrestling cartoon.
