With bangers like this, it's no wonder why Crimson 1 was so loyal to the pacific federation

Honestly after listening to this multiple times, I'm convinced this music subtly hints at Driver being a veteran from the Oceanian War or some other past war who decides to enjoy a quiet life as a reservist, because the entire music feels so triumphant and heroic like you truly belong in the skies, not nervous and dire like you are just 4 reservists facing off against mercs.

It's clear that the soundtrack is clearly part of the narrative process for this game. That Showdown leitmotif on the intro is *spectacular*, genuinely gave me chills. Crazy to think Driver and Monarch missed each other by an hour in theory.

The Federation had to make Driver a reservist because Driver fighting Monarch would have destroyed the planet.

I don't have the musical knowledge to explain why, but the section starting at 1:33 is so perfectly suited to this particular niche video game genre. It just screams air combat.

Favourite track from F59 next to World on Fire. This track perfectly encapsulates the emotions and thoughts of Driver, K-9 squadron, this whole mission, and maybe even the player. Reservists, not meant for war (more for humanitarian aid, as per Cobb's dialogue), are thrust into the conflict they heard not much about due to Federation censors, and are brutally met with the ugly truth that the Federation is on the backfoot. The opening theme of Showdown up to the first 44 seconds plays out like an emergency plug scrambled to stop a bleeding wound: the player (or Driver & K-9 squadron) are suddenly faced with the massive task of protecting retreating Federation regulars - even Peackeepers - from the massacre over the Bering Strait. 00:44 onwards, realisation sets in. We're really doing this, no turning back now. Trepidation, nervousness, and abit of excitement. 01:15 Federation theme with heroic trumpets reminds you that you're the lifesavers for the retreating forces, it's just you between blood thirsty Mercenaries and heroes. You're squadron leader, so now you have to show your team how to fight. You are... 𝐒 𝐀 𝐋 𝐕 𝐀 𝐓 𝐈 𝐎 𝐍.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD !! What kind of music is that, for fuck's sake, Pavli? 3 years ago, you turned up out of nowhere, dropping bangers one after the other, and I'd become a fan of your music...and now you've turned up again and you're dropping even crazier music in the mode: "3 years ago, it was a warm-up ". Fucking hell, man.... your music gives me the shivers, and I can't wait to hear what you come up with next!

I'm still deeply bummed about the FL59 being PS5 exclusive, but the music slaps hard. You've done a great job again.

I just want to say, you're easily the most talented composers I've ever listened to. I didn't think it was possible, but the new tracks for Frontline 59 surpassed even the best in the original PW. I love your work

Is the intro supposed to tie it into Showdown? Because that's the vibe I'm getting from it. (It's more twisted due to how we're on the Federations' side during it)

I can feel my wings spreading with this absolute amalgamation of intensity and hope

I've said it before. If the whole vibe for Project Wingman was such a contrast from the usual experience of an Ace Combat; Frontline 59 brings it back home. I feel like playing Ace Combat 5 all over again, and I love it. Terrific job, Pavli.

This track won me over, especially the section of 1:33 to 2:51, my god Jose the choice of instruments was amazing!!

The opening has that Glacial Skies vibe. And oh my god the vibrato at 1:34

To me this the dark version of Showdown… The leitmotif and everything is there.. I mean it makes complete sense since we play from the Federation’s POV; as we are now the ones being hunted by blood thirsty mercenaries shortly after the events of Mission 11 in the main game. Compare that to, when we were in the main game, in the Merc’s and Cascadia’s POV-we were having a blast killing off those feds. Oh how the tables have turned for us players… That’s why I love this game’s soundtrack. PW isn’t PW without it. Keep up the good work Jose! Also seeing Galaxy as a red name hurt.

This track's certainly one of my favorite of the whole album but with so many great tracks yet again I can't say which one I like the most just yet 😆

The strings you pulled at 1:33 are just straight out of Blockade from Ace Combat 04; *exactly* that trepidatious triumph that characterizes that mission, Mobius One's career, and the musical identity of that whole series going forward. You're a friggin' wizard.

i was NOT expecting mission 1 to roll up and hit me with a Dead Ahead/Siege on Silvat/Anchorhead Raid and yet here we fucking are. i think you are legitimately the best in the class at these super moody and tense heroics-on-a-tightrope themes, all the similar tracks in the main campaign like Pyroclastic are the ones i always come back to too. please never leave this genre

Its Peacekeeper Track but Heroic instead of menacing, could mean two things: 1. To indicate that we fought for Federation and are loyal subject of the Nation. 2. Perhaps in the past, we're Peacekeeper level, or even better Ace during the Oceania war. Idk man, this track scream Valiant effort and Patriotism during hard times on every level, Jose skill are something else.

Out of curiosity, will we receive a making of F59's OST like the main OST received? I love the usage of the motifs in these tracks and wanted to know if there was any extra motivation or decisions that went into them!

You knocked out of the park with this song. It fits so, so well with the mission it's in. I love the whole section from 1:30 to 2:51 and the transition right into it. This whole part, particularly the usage of strings, conveys not only the floating feeling of being high above the world in an aircraft, but also a short-of-breath, panicked sort of feeling. A building feeling of terror. It matches with the story of a group average joe reservists who are coming to realize they have been thrown in hopelessly over their heads into one of the worst possible situations and have to desperately fight for their lives to even think about getting out alive. I got goosebumps in the mission when I first heard this part mixed with the frantic in-game comms. Amazing work.
