Thanks for helping this white boy perfect his pupusa recipe, I often use your videos relating to pupusa and curtido as reference since it's a few months between each time I make them.
Made this finally and...*drum roll*...everyone that tasted it said it was soooooo good. I did add pickled jalepenos and even my MIL said it tasted fresh and better than the el salvadorian restaurants. I told her I watched your channel to get this awesome, easy to follow, and simple recipe. It's a family fave. Thank you again gochujang mama!
I love when you say.......”No Worries”! This makes me feel like it’s okay if I mess up, I feel less stressed! Thank you for making a wonderful tutorial!
I don't usually comment but I followed your recipe but I saved a cup of that boiling water for the vinegar mixture. It came out great!!! I will be making your pupusas recipe next.
I love your videos and cook many of your recipes. It is great to have a English speaking channel to help those of us learning to cook a different culture of food. My husband loves the food. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic !!! Thank you so much ! Made my first pupusas and they weren't perfect but none were left so I must have done something right thanks to your video !
When I saw the pic, first thing I thought was "this is pikliz"! Gochugang Mama mama makes pikliz? 😳 Pikliz is the Haitian version of this salad. Only difference is that ours is very spicy, & we add mainly lime juice & maybe a lil vinegar. We eat ours with griot, which is fried pork, similar to chicharones, fried green plantains & other fried meats/fish. It's been years since I've had Salvadorian food, I need to catch up. 😌
I CANT BELIEVE I FOUND ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL WOMAN FROM EL SALVADOR TO GET MY RECIPES FROM !!!!! I've been looking for this recipe everywhere! My grandma always makes it but I never new what it was called and when I heard you're from El Salvador I got so excited ♥️♥️♥️ I love your channel sister!! ❣️🇸🇻
Made this last night and today made pupusas for the first time and WOW this recipe taste exactly like the spicy Carrots I get at mexican restaurants! Great recipe thank you! And the pupusas where delish too....I also followed your pupusas recipe but the filling was with homemade chili!
Hi I want to say I enjoy how perfectly describes everything so detail.. Love it.. I wanted to learn for the first time.. Thanksgiving is coming up..next month and im not el sovidore but my husband is Mexican and I love to eat pupusas.. l have learned the tamales already.. So I see it's similar to the tamales.. Which I love tamales.. So good But needed to learn how to make them Big holidays coming up..
I was blessed by one of my Hispanic co workers with Pupousa and Curtido I really loved it especially the Curtido. I want to make this but I'm out of oregano and I have white vinegar and not apple cider. Can I substitute or will it change the outcome of the flavor?
I missed this! I watched your video on Pupusa and forgot to watch this. My youngest daughter is married to a young man from Mexico, and she has taught herself to cook authentic Mexican food. She is very good. Her family loves this, so I wanted to make this for them when I go to visit. Thank you for all you do. Looking forward to hear how your doing with your preparing for your surgery. Much love to you and your family.
E estado buscando esta reseta desde hacen años ... la llegue a pedir a extencion de familia pero nunca la pude obtener ... gracias dsd Puerto Rico ... 👍
I added a similar comment on the recipe for the chicharrón, and that's the addition of Mexican oregano. It's essential for the curtido to taste authentic. To this amount of cabbage (the whole head), add 1 tbsp of it. One other thing, soak only the cabbage in the hot water or your flavors from the onion and the carrot won't be as bright. Excellent recipe otherwise!! And, folks, don't be afraid of using plain white vinegar! It tastes just as good!
Oh, yes I agree, and meant to ask concerning using Mexican Oregano in stead of regular? Also wondered about the soaking only the cabbage too. Thank you for clarifying this.
I'm curious how long this stays good for in the fridge. I love this from a local restaurant and so glad that I can make it now. Thank you for the recipe!
It will last for a long time because the vinegar and salt keep it from spoiling. However, the best taste is for about 2 weeks. A month is pushing it. Feel free to keep it longer though because regardless, the flavors are great!
Thank you for this video! I just moved to Japan (my husband got stationed here) and I’ve missed my moms cooking... so I’m finally making this and pupusas myself (I’ll be using your pupusa video) lol Fyi took me foreverrrrr just to find masa out here but I finally got my hands on some
Hi! How long would the curtido last in the fridge if not gobbled up right away? Thx for the recipe- I am making the chicharones and cheese pupusas manana!
IAM going to do the Walter thing first so i can add that same Walter to the Apple cidre vinegar , I can't wait to try this recipe thank you and mucho ❤️❤️❤️
Interesting. I am Indian Cabbage is not very respected vegetable even with vegetarians though it is very cheap.I made it but added some garlic flakes. It is very attractive and got appreciation even from cabbage haters
What is the difference between this and coleslaw? Everything is almost the same but I put celery seed in mine instead of oregano. I love coleslaw and just made some tonight but I never put it in a jar. If it would keep longer I would.............I love coleslaw and bet I will love this. Going to try this next time I do so thank you. PS...........what is kimchee and do you have a recipe for that? What does it taste like?
what is the ACV vinegar for. I add my fixings and then salt. Let sit for a couple of hours and massage cover with towel over night. Massage and can up. Let sit on counter for 3 weeks till I want to eat. Sometimes as long as year.
I am sad that I won't be able to purchase the mug now as I just only found out about it and have not the money for one ...so cute! Hope they make a come back again later!?
Hi there, quick question: The oregano you're using, I assume that's Mexican oregano and not the Mediterranean kind, right? Thanks for the video! Quick and to the point. : )
I made some tonight and my jar only ended up halfway full of the vinegar mixture and I followed all the amounts to the video, not sure if I did something wrong
