@mdz255 Just like with "Hound Dog" he changed the lyrics into googoo-gaga caliber nonsense so that white people could stay sheltered from real life... His version of "That's Alright" is ok musically... I agree with Jerry Lieber (of Lieber & Stoller), though, in that Elvis' versions of RnB songs are DEFINITELY not "better"... just more accessibly commercial. Elvis was talented, he just had no control over his career.
