Andrew Kiest takes along for a flight on the 1929 Curtiss Robin at the Mid America Flight Museum. This is one special airplane. For planes in the 1920"s, it was kinda ahead of it's time. Such a classic beautiful airplane.
These are beautiful old airplanes! I first learned of them in Williamson GA at an airfield restaurant called Barnstormers. A red and yellow id say 48 inch wing span is hanging from the ceiling. I am currently building one to fly in Phoenix sim.
Great plane! What engine? If you're ever in northeast pa stop by the Eagles Mere Air and Auto Museum.....ox-5 equipped Robin and Challenger equipped Fledgling - engine is operational and only one that is operational to our knowledge
Man, what a beautiful old plane! Comes from an era when flying was flying; none of the setting the autopilot and poking around on the GPS. I've dropped clues. I'll keep dropping them. When you guess who Wrench245 is, I've got a neat piece of aviation history for you and know how to get hold of you to schedule delivery.
Who routinely called on 121.6 asking for "Stephanie Ground?" Who else is in photos with Ken in the old Addison Tower with a bottle of wine after Michelle transferred up to Oklahoma City? Who made a hobby of driving Ryan Bitters closer to madness? And who else laughed his ass off as constables and a guy from Millionaire froze his ass off as he tried to repo JetStar N848AB while we had it on jackstands, gear up and Don Hodge had steam coming out of his ears.
