From the KTLA web page, it appears Mr. Moukoian was the victim of a hit and run accident. The operator of the striking vehicle ran a red light and T-boned the vehicle being operated by Mr. Moukoian. Mr. Moukoian was operating a vintage British car at the time. The operator of the striking vehicle fled the scene with the assistance of another driver who stopped to pick him up according to the news report. The striking vehicle had been reported stolen.
230 bhp is perfect. The 70’s engines when built with today’s kit are really amazing. I built a Toyota 2T engine to 1750cc on bike carbs , it made 130bhp.
You're watching the WRONG stuff if you don't like body-mods. There's PPL who upload boring VINTAGE factory TV commercials. Cookie-Cutters and sheep, original, untouched, just like everyone else. I'm unique, just like everything I do. Ppl like us create the trends. Car manufacturers will copy our ideas for upcoming models.
A friend of mine had a built Vega with a 400ci motor and it was nuts. Unfortunately he took his own life many years ago now ALL over a damn woman at that...His step father took possession of it and literally destroyed the car long before my buddies son was old enough to get it given to him... ALOT of people were VERY pissed off about how it all played out.
@@dieseldabz7104 sorry about your friend, but I always think about that little Vega with a 350 stroker in it, and a lot of work to keep the body from twisting.
I had a mint 260, miss it big time. Wasn’t turned out like this beauty but wider tires, rims, air dam and aluminum rear louvers. Wanted Weber’s but couldn’t afford them lol. They’re a definite classic.
I have owned my 1978 280Z since new and am getting ready to restore it for the third time. I never drive it because it just feels old in comparison to my much older De Tomaso Pantera. But, I think after seeing the video I'll give the guys at Vintage Motor Works a call and discuss some options. Not a fan of the wheel flares, but the interior is great. Thanks for the video.
I literally bought a 240Z and BMW 318I in like '99-00 for $800 for the pair and both ran.....Both were gold colored as well. The Z was mid to late 70's and the 318 was an '86...Man do I kick myself now for getting rid of both a few months later...
I love it..My dad had a 85 z31 the same color..Strange enough I picked it out over a c4 vette in 1988 when I was on 8 years old..That car was shipped from California and some how landed in Richmond, VA...Love the Datsun and Color Combination..👍🏁
When I turned 16 in 1984, I had been saving money up to buy a car and my dad took me to an auto auction and the car I wanted most was a 1979 280Z but my dad wouldn't bid on it for me cause he thought I'd kill myself lol. Instead we ended up winning a 1978 Ford Fairmont. To this day I always consider the 280Z my first car :P
@@AutotopiaLA I have to say I enjoy your channel and the wide variety of cars and stories presented. Always great content! Glad youtube recommended it. Keep up the quality work!
Much respect to Henry and what he did in the car community, so sorry for the loss. Great build, I absolutely adore the S130 Cars and this is one might be my new favorite 🥰🧡
My brother inlaw had a brand new 1976 240z back when I was in high school...i didn’t have a license...I drove it from the passenger seat hahaha..it was the fastest car I was ever in back than...we went for a ton of cruises and partied our asses off in that car..their still cool today and when I see one it brings back a lot of memories.. thanks Ray.
I plan to stroke my L28 eventually, sounds so good! Wow His interior is incredible, similar to mine in a lot of ways. I’m sure that Z is awesome to drive in
Thank you for this tribute video Shawn and team. Henry was exceptional mechanic and builder, but more importantly he was one of the nicest people I've ever met! Just a super sad story, a true car legend gone way way too soon! RIP my friend.
Sean it sure would be fun see you enjoy a track day now and then! This was a great video as always. Good variety when you mix JDMs, Europeans and American muscle. Sorry for you loss 🙏
My friend had a new 71 240 it burnt orange, I drove it more than him, we beat the Piss out of it, it was Bullet proof, like you said you thought it was fast back then, my stage two Fiesta ST would blow the doors off a stock one, this car brings back so many memories. The Fiesta Flash 🤙🏼🍺🍺
Such an iconic car and the color choices are perfect! Looks like an Aston Martin combination with paint and leather interior. One of my all time import favorites Shawn!
My buddy/neighbor @ 14 yearsold had one of these as a fieldflogger on NJ - bucket rust brown and rusted out floorboardds with Fred Flinstone brakes. Worked for us driving like we stole it. ;-) Great resto here. Thanks for upload.
Wow you talk about a lot of important tips in the video production space! We enjoy what you talk about, keep going. Anytime you are in Scottsdale reach out. If you can, message us @dmakproductions on IG and we can chat. We love what you do!
My first ticket was also in my 240Z back in like 1989 man I miss that car I put a 280ZX motor in it with carburetors and I painted it myself with PPG pearl white
I own a 260z with webber and headers it spent a lot of time in Texas and then 30+ years in 2 garages in Pa. but not driven . It has 19k original miles . I can't wait to drive it for the first time this summer !
A damn good looking car. My condolences... But interestingly enough my dad wrecked my uncles 240 back in the day, on the first day... Yes, just brought it home and my dad killed it against a mustang....
I wonder how many of us got our first speeding ticket was in a Z. I was 15, in my 280 2+2, her name was Rudolph. ( because she could fly) Only car I went over 100. I have my 280, and a 240. Best fun cars.
I'm 44 years old and the truth is the others the 260 the 240 zx are ok..... But the two that are the icons are THE 280 ZX SERIES AND THE 300 ZX SERIES AND THE 280 ZX SERIES CAME WITH A INLINE STRAIGHT 6 !!!!! WITCH HAD THE MOST POWER AND FOR SURE THE MOST TRK OUT OF THE,300 I HAD 3 280ZX S AND 2 300 ZX SERIES AND THE TWO ARE BY FAR SO CLOSE TO MY HEART AND JUST SO WISHED I STILL HAD THEM i really really do they were the best and the best for the money !!!
Nice 260 build I had a 72 240 back in the 80’s wish I still had her. My son just picked up a 74 260 he is so happy he can’t wait to work on it and get it set up for his personal taste . Condolences to Nikko and his family . A great loss in the car world . RIP Henry. Thanks for showcasing another fine car.
Are we singing "America the Beautiful" or "God Save the Queen"? What a cool tribute to the builder. 240's are not about talk. I had a '72 Dime wagon with the 240 five speed on Webber L-20. Datsunsosick🤢
We try mixing it up although I’m most passionate about the pro touring and restomod world but I promise we’ll continue to mix in JDM and Euro vehicles as well
The 260z was a interesting z was part 280z and part 240z there was some weird stuff going on there it was still carbd but was only made for 1 and a half years then the 280z came out i own a 75' 280z first year of the fuel injection bosh jettronic and its under contruction right now working on it lots of rust in the tank but not much rust on the car hopefully i get it running again would like to rebuild the motor someday it runs good but it would hesitate a lot and i think the sediment was the problem we will see :)
