With the heavy plate sides and bottom does the boat drum at rest on the water? This is a very nice boat, but could be a deal breaker as most aluminium boats are noisy. I look forward to your reply as I'm looking for a bigger boat. Cheers
@excessivefishingaustralia2849
@excessivefishingaustralia2849 3 года назад
Hi mate, not at all. At rest there’s just a soothing water lapping sound if it’s not calm but that’s it. 8mm bottom and 6mm sides help stop the drumming, cheers and thanks for watching🍻👍

@horseshoe182 8 месяцев назад
@@excessivefishingaustralia2849 thanks for the feedback, the QSB5.9 cummins marine comes in at 658kg, that includes turbo and aftercooler. then cooling system,exhaust system, gearbox and shaft to be added. you could mount the engine in the centre/ish of the boat to spread the load. the merc 300 , weights 239kg. its quite a difference. what do you think?, thanks
@deanburrows3504
@deanburrows3504 2 года назад
By the decisions made on this build package its clear you've got sea time and know your boats. Only difference I would have made is a diesel inboard. The torque and fuel economy is unparalleled. There noisy and take up deck space though.
@excessivefishingaustralia2849
@excessivefishingaustralia2849 2 года назад
Thanks Dean, yeh everything is an compromise i guess, outboards have come a long way these days and definately suit what I do. If it was a long range cruiser for remote stuff I would defiantely consider going Diesel inboard.

@@adrianfalconer1671 Cheers mate, look if I had to pick something I would change on my next big boat, I would add another transom door so have one on each side. When it comes to building your own custom boat is you have total control over the set up and layout of your boat. I take all of my previous boats and other peoples boats,pick the things that is going to work best for the new build and talk with Aris at oceanic to make it happen. I dont dislike anything about my builds because I know exactly what Im building before I start. Nice boat but to much clutter in the rear. No room to fight a fish. Pilot house roof extension keeps you from having casting room.
@excessivefishingaustralia2849
@excessivefishingaustralia2849 3 года назад
Yeh hi mate, thanks for your comment, most of our casting was done from the front of the boat. We would often have 3 blokes throwing lures up there with ease, and although you the roof poles were there, if we needed to chase a fish, which we did all the time, we would go up front, around the bow. I never built this boat to be a game boat, more of a offshore/island explorer, Cheers

9 meter with a 2.8meter beam. I think she’s Definitely under powered. I bet out of the hull she is weak with 5 pob and loaded with fuel and goodies. Our 7.95 meter with 2.8 beam loaded with goodies (bait, Berley, beer, food, 5 pob) she’s weak out of the hull with a 300 yammy. I wish I had of gone twin 200s
@excessivefishingaustralia2849
@excessivefishingaustralia2849 3 года назад
Thanks for watching Luke.These hulls are very efficient, cruise all day with auto pilot on at 26kn fully loaded with a top speed of 36.5 fully loaded. Does 38kn half full with 4 blokes on board. Its not the fastest boat out there but plenty quick enough, besides, I like the fact it was averaging only 1.1L per nm which was more important to me than hole shot.
@lukepaul2882
@lukepaul2882 3 года назад
@@excessivefishingaustralia2849 not problem I really enjoyed watching you show case your boat, She definitely is a beautiful boat and well set up, I’m sure you were sad to see her go and I bet the new owner is stoked. Also that is some nice fuel economy but my point wasn’t speed or fuel economy, it was power delivery when you need it. For Bar crossings and high wind/ swell situations. Getting instant power to get out of the hull is more of a safety thing on bigger/heavier alloy boats. Did she spend much time out in the rough stuff?
@excessivefishingaustralia2849
@excessivefishingaustralia2849 3 года назад
@@lukepaul2882 Yeh all my spots are between 32-44nm offshore. We fish south west WA where a calm day is a 15kn southerly and a 2m swell.We fish hard, go out when you shouldn"t be out there and have been caught out in some wild shit. If bar crossings are ya thing then I guess the more hp the better. Dont get me wrong, twin 200's or 250's on the back would be nice, but it did everything we built it for with ease.
