That is one of the best belt guards i have ever seen! Amazing work!

Thanks! It will do a great job at keeping sticks and debris away from the belt. Plus keep it from ever coming out of the pulley grooves.

Excellent work! Made it look so easy! It's looking like I am going to need to repower my Wheel Horse. Obviously the engine pulley isn't going to be in the same place, so reworking my guides will be a must. I do like how that clutch is releasing the belt. Smooth as butter. I will probably match up what you have a bit. See how she rolls on my older WH.

The setup on here is exactly the same as the one on my Deere, with a little bit different angles. The Deere setup has been fantastic and the original belt I designed it around is still in it. Belt hasn’t shown any signs of distress yet and I’ve clutch dropped it plenty of times. So far, mine seems “grabbier” than this, however we haven’t driven it yet… I really like encasing the belt so it keeps sticks and stuff out of it completely. And for what little part of the steel guide is exposed underneath, I’ll protect it with the up coming skid plate that’s gonna reinforce the frame anyway. I know guys are getting even more belt wrap around the transmission pulley with the other idler, but I don’t like the idea of having one on the tension side of the system. That’s why they gotta use car serpentine rollers so the bearings can take the force I think. If it slips to much in water we can always try the holes in the pulley mod. Which I’m reluctant to do because I think what that does more than anything is let the belt surface push into the holes and give it more friction, which could tear up the surface of the belt over time, but I have not done it yet on anything so I may be wrong completely. Even so, the transmission pulley is wrapped more now than it ever was on the stock setup! I guess time will tell if this setup works!

@@Tennesseemountainhomestead I currently have the belt wrap around the trans pulley. I honestly don’t know if it is needed with the location of your idler above the trans pulley. Yes the holey pulley mod does eat on the belt some. It’s a quick easy mod and doesn’t guarantee less slip. I think pulley sizing is the key and belt wrap.

@@MightyRaze Steffen and I mulled over weather or not to put that idler above the trans pulley and finally decided to do it. It adds over an inch of contact and because it’s a back side idler on the slack side of the system it doesn’t seem to hurt the belt any. However, I didn’t weld that piece on and it come off with 4 bolts. The same 84” belt would still work also. I’ve definitely gained a lot of knowledge on belt drive systems over the last year, but I still “don’t know” all the time and learn as I go 😅

We will definitely be seeing y’all out there at some point! All this thing needs is a foot throttle now and it’ll be a great rig I think. All the basics are now covered and then some. At least Steffen will be able to come out with me on this Wheel Horse and then I was hoping we could bring the 111 and possibly another tractor for the smaller kids if we are able to get out for TTC at GER.

I forget how to do it but you gotta type a code into your channel description, I think! If you look it up online you’ll find it, I think I watched a video and the guy explained how to do it!
