Absolutely the best video on blood effects. I've been searching for like a month and everyone is like HERE DOWNLOAD THESE PACKS but like I want to be able to know how to use the effect so that I can be versatile with it and use it exactly when I need to. Love that you put this out, keep it up

Great tutorial! Really easy to follow! I just realised while following this tutorial, but it's also a great way to make scarlett witch effects with a few tweaks, quite a few of the single frames look very similar to the effects

It would be great if there is a way to make it stream a bit. Like spray out for 1 second and slowly decrease width of the x-axis about a fixed point, for example, key frame from (-5,3) (6,3) to (-5,3) (-4,3). Therefore It streams out then slowly reduces amount of liquid until it has little to no movement across the x-axis.
At 0:59 Spread apart the birth rate key frames on the timeline. Idk why i didn't show the key frames in the timeline at this point in the video. In the video I had 15 0 🔹️ 🔹️ < keyframes are adjacent frames. But try separating them and maybe adding another keyframe before "0". # # 0 🔹️ 🔹️ 🔹️ (Mess around with the values) Trying hard to explain here cuz idk your experience level. Hopefully, if anything, this was overexplained.

OMG wait, I think you're right! I just tested it and the "Amount" parameter is like 10X more intense. Try using an amount or 15 or so and mess around from there. It makes no sense for AE to have changed this, but it looks like they did. LMK what happens when you try lower values. --Tyler
Hey. Is vector blur having any effect? Is it just not what you were expecting? that might be because vector blur's intensity also depends on the color of the particles when the "Property" is set to "Lightness." In retrospect, I should have used the Alpha as the property so the color wouldn't matter. You will likely need to enter different values than what I have no matter what. Hopefully, that was the issue. Testing it right now on my system, it is working; I have AE 2020 17.0.4 (the March update, not the newest). --Tyler

@@EntsRepLtd Hey! You need 2 keyframes. One with the first birthrate and then another a frame or two later with a value of 0. Make sure the 0 keyframe isn't on the first frame (I mean 00:00 is frame 1).

Hi. I'd recommend just searching RU-vid or Google for videos on rendering/exporting in After Effects. It's an important thing to learn early on. If you want the exported video to have transparency, you can set that in the render options and there are many online resources to explain each parameter in a lot more detail. I typically render partially transparent videos as "ProRes 4444" and check "RGBA." There's a lot to explain and know, that I can't explain enough in a comment.
You could probably get something by increasing the producer radius in one of the dimensions (x-,y-,z-radius). Just make sure to also increase the "birth rate" too since the particals are gonna be spread out more now.
Hi, thanks for the comment. This tutorial/technique probably wouldn't be a great solution for wall or ground hits. My effect kinda relies on the particles just being used for motion and general shape. The vector blur is what makes it look realistic, but also like a liquid. I don't have a non-stock-video-effect solution for those kinds of hits.

I never responded, sorry. -Make a Birthrate keyframe on the first frame set to 15. I found that 15 is a good number to start from. -set a keyframe on the second frame as 0. This means all the particles are produced on the first frame, and then none are produced for all frames after.
Precompose all the layers. Then add your video layer underneath the new blood squirt precomp. I really should have just put that in the video. Thanks for the comment!
L V hi. you can drag the blood composition into a new composition with your footage below it. Alternatively, precompose all the layers except the background footage ( but including the adjustment layer). So the adjustment layer isn't applied to the footage because we don't want that. There should be two main layers, the blood precomp and the background footage in this composition. I hope that makes sense let me know if not. -Tyler
