You mounted the sockets from under the board @7:05 . It seems the original ST-35 boards mounted the sockets from the top. Also your pictorial shows the sockets mounted from the top. I am about to put two Dynakitparts boards into my vintage ST-35 and it also shows the sockets installed on top of the boards. Just saying, since if you mount them that way there is no need to trim the socket openings. Also top mounting seems to be consistent with the original look of the amp. I suppose it may just be a preference thing, but I wonder if it's for better distribution of forces across the board when inserting tubes??? Great video series and I look forward to putting new boards into my '66 ST-35. You vids help build my confidence, thanks!
+RODALCO2007 Makes sense, I always forget formal names of stuff when I'm in the middle of making a video. As soon as I turn off the camera, names pop in my head...
Greetings: Hopefully you spaced your speaker binding posts at 3/4" to accomodate standard double banana plug connectors (aka General Radio plugs). When using those plugs, I use matching nail polish or paint to match the binding post color for correct orientation when inserting.
I just finished assembling the ST-35 boards for my vintage amp. I have to say they turned out well and I attribute how well to you. Along with watching other electronic vids, I have to admit you have shown that attention to detail really makes a difference. I'm so proud of my first circuit board build and it only turned out the way it did by following your example. Thanks!!!
