NICE..... Now we know that Korea DOES make tones for darker skin! It is possible and didn't take them years to produce! There is no excuse for a company to not be able to make darker tones. NO EXCUSE.
@@deirdreevangelista856 To be honest, the excuse has always been ignorance and lack of value for darker skin tones. The fact that Korean brands of all places where the native skin tones is on the extremely pale side have become inclusive over the years and yet America whose population is highly mixed woth darker skin toned people and has been for hundreds of years are still lacking says it all.
There's a lot of darker Koreans and Filipinos. My Asian friends come in many skin tones. It's ridiculous that in 2024 this is still an issue. @@Ebunoluwa13
so true! I always thought they only had shades for their skin color, but since I been on tiktok I'ev been so so much of these type of vid and I'm so happy! i'm a black girl and this just warms my heart!
@@LapiTheHumanits bc many ppl bring up the "omg representation!!" N stuff, like. Ok? It was NEVER about the race and still included it.they are more racially active then the racist ones.
Laneige also has something similar...but I'm really sad we don't get this type of custom made foundation service in Western countries where there are more people with different skin tones.
@@sunnyv7745 Lancôme and Prescriptives does this in the US! I know the former still does but it’s in a limited number of stores. Sadly the latter doesn’t exist anymore
@@sunnyv7745 There's actually a lot of services like that at major retailers like sephora! It doesn't seem to work as well as the one in the video though... o-o
Do you know you were on Korean national TV news? It was about Korean cosmetic making more diverse shades now and you were the first clip showing on the news.
Loving this S.K visit for you. Love that brands there are embracing you, and in turn they're color range is winding and becoming more accessible to brown skin.
@@DeeLite220 you need a passport to enter almost every foreign country. You won't need to buy a visa for S Korea if you go as a tourist for less than 90 days.
Prescriptivesssss! That was my foundation for prom in the 90s 🤫 I remember being so excited to do the color match! I literally JUST got rid of a little silver Prescriptives mirror I had from then in my purse
For us that didn’t wear beige foundation back in the day they were lifesavers! The only time I ever had a colour even come close to my skin colour back then was my custom prescriptives foundation ❤
We used to have this here in the states, named “Prescriptive”. Used to purchase in Macy’s right next to the Clinique counter. It was wonderful watching them customize and create directly in front of you.
Wow, you brought back memories I completely forgot. Costa Mesa‘s Prescriptive’s. ‘I’ll be honest I’m a cool olive and they just didn’t have it. They mixed it up and I was still pretty orange back then. Loved the novelty so much though. Dang what memories!!
But they did at one point. I still have my swatch and brand list from using the device (I can't tell if you're being sarcastic though; I think you already know 😂).
Back in the 90’s, the brand Prescriptives made custom to order foundations. They had a pheromone perfume too. I think they would have killed it in this age of inclusivity 😊
YOU REALLY STARTED THIS!! I’ve been watching you for years and it’s crazy to see how much Korean makeup has changed because of your influence! They have really been listening! I am so happy and proud of you 🥰🥰🥰
also the undertones are so important! other foundations match your skin color but have a cooler undertone than your natural one so it still looks off. the fact it's custom made is amazing ❤
You’re SO pretty ❤ but is it a good foundation? How does it sit on your skin, and how does it wear throughout the day? Is it cruelty free? I need to know!!
This is wonderful. But i would love to see a brand that would match your personal tones and undertones. Black skin is so very unique that you may be neutral ( have several undertones) , to blue, orange, yellow, red or purple undertones. And yes, our tones change from winter/ fall to spring/summer.
That's what it literally does. That's why she is holding up that card that has all those other colours against her skin. The AI tool analyzes your undertones to give you the perfect match
I had no idea AmorePacific was a Korean brand! They make an enzyme cleansing powder that is FREAKING AMAZING I love it so much, even though it's a bit pricey (gotta get it on sale).
I think the way that skin detector thingy works is that it detects the different tones and values in someone's skin tone. Like how much pink, how much green, how much yellow, etc
FINALLY...AND IN FACT, YOU're one of the reasons that this probably exists!!! Seriously if people on the internet wouldn't speak up about it, it wouldn't exist this amount of shade
This... this is so cool. I have no difficulty in finding my own shade in my country but oh boy that range of brown and dark shade is so awesome I want to try it.
This selection truly represent what differing skin tones look like, not just 3 light, medium, and dark options, actual shades, like you see for lighter foundations, cuz y'all know everyone comes in different tones. I don't know why it took us so long to get here but I'm so glad we made it😊 this makes me excited to try makeup👏🏾
This is so cool!! I would love to try this brand in the U.S. Sephora has a machine similar to this and it works really well! It not only tells you the correct shade, but also tells what skin type you have and any problems. Ex: dry skin, oily, hyperpigmentation, etc. and it also recommends what type of foundation (hydrating, matte) you need along with skin care products. 🎉
She really made a difference because they didn’t start doing all of this until she made a video about how they had barely any shades for people that are not white. now look, they are inviting her out AND have more shades that are diverse, she really did it! Go girl’ ❤
