Custom Hoonicorn Project - EP05

In this episode I take inspiration from Hoonigans Hoonicorn.
I start off with a Hot Wheels 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback and slowly start turning it into a Hoonicorn custom.

I’d been thinking of tossing the Matchbox 68 Mustang on the big wheels for my Hoonicorn body, but a Fastback Hoonicorn looks delightful.

Yeah there's a few things I want to do more with this one too. But it was overstaying its welcome :D if it's possible for me to remove the paint without eating into the clay I used you might see a return to this one in a future episode.

2:07 - 😆 Thnx for explaining the drill bit sizes & screw sizes in terms that I can understand (mm). Now I finally know what to look for. So Thnx for that! Also,just wondering,what happens if the car falls on the floor? Would the putty additions come off❓🤔

You're welcome 👍 The putty is rock solid once cured. Here I carved and shaped it 24 hours after applying it still has sone flexibility to it. After a full week it's hard as rock. It can be drilled and even tapped then. I think you would have a job to get it off without decent tools. It's ideal stuff I have yet to find anything as versatile and hard wearing 👌

If I remember correctly it came as a 5 pack of differing sizes from my local super market.

Lol, here's an irony, cos I found loads of these where the tampos were applied really poorly and never lined up very well but eventually found one that was done properly. You've found one actually properly painted from the factory and have had to strip it for the purpose of customising 😂😂😂 I'm currently working on a restoration of a black one with red that some vandal has damaged and almost have the roof straight again. I will own up that this and the 67 GT500 with the big bonnet vent are my two favourite Ponies made by HW.....

Ah I must have been lucky as I picked up 2 of these and both lined up pretty well. Most of these must have been a monday morning or friday evening job!

@@AlvarezAzel very very true, definitely not much checking at the QC/QA, though the yellow recolour I have been a lot more successful at finding decent efforts.

@@andrewphippsphillips1455 yeah I was able to find the yellow in a multipack. I think the white is nicer though as its matte painted.

@@AlvarezAzel the matt is easier to paint over for certain. The newer blue Gulf is also very nice and it's just a pity the white is a shop exclusive, cos a white companion recolour would be traditional with many of their other Gulf releases.
