Custom Ladder for expedition military truck

I took a 5 step ladder ( xtend&climb WT5 ) and hacked it up to transform it and attached it to the platform on the truck so a could get easy access in and out of the truck.

I watched the old smart car video again because I have a smart car and I was wondering if I can use it as a small plow. I need to know if you disabled the airbags. It seems to me they would deploy if I hit the snow pile hard with another pass. I may do a snowsport design only smaller. I want to use the existing holes for the eye hooks. I was looking at the system used for towing a smart fortwo behind a camper and the towing base plate is 500 dollars. I'm just dreaming I guess. I will probably have to keep paying a plow guy.

No I did not deactivate the airbags airbags only deploy when you drive over 20 km/h. I think you can use the tow hook locations for your setup personally I think my setup was over engineered.

@@FrankOfAllTrades I was looking at what was needed to put the base plate on and I agree on the over engineered comment. You probably could have come up with something yourself. You can think up a lot of things and overcome whatever changes you need to it seems.

I've been thinking long & hard about purchasing a MTV. I'm in Canada & wasn't sure about getting one from the States & registering it in Canada. Obviously looking at your rig it is possible. Any chance of letting me know if you had any issues in the process of purchasing it & registering it in Canada? Did you register it as an RV? If you have the time. Thanks

It was very easy to register in Canada the one I bought was already registered as an RV in Utah so it was as simple as paying the GST at the border and then getting is inspected in my province took me a total of about 2 weeks. I highly suggest you go see the truck before purchasing and maybe even drive it up to Canadas yourself. Thats what I did and loves every mommet of it and saved thousands on transport.

I'm leaving myself a fair bit of time to find what I want as the M1086's are hard to find compared to the 78/79's. Thanks again
