@@customnightvision they're amazing! So far I've only been able to wear them while taking out the trash but they're super clear and the articulation of the housing is great for my face.
Interesting... I wonder if the housing will be brittle and easy to break. Magnesium is a brittle metal. Race cars are intended to break apart for energy dispersion when a wreck occurs.
That's an excellent point you bring up, however, the magnesium alloy we use is extremely flexible. It actually has a nearly identical strength profile to 6061 aluminum with about 40% less weight which makes it an ideal choice for any mechanical application.
@@customnightvision it just isn't a selling point I feel without the explanation given by LLI in their response. Doesn't come across with the same punch as military grade steel or aluminum. I know it is just words but when selling products, it matters. For instance Tungsten rings. They are 'strong' but I have first hand seen one shatter when dropped on tile because their flexibility is lacking. I am not alone in this experience either, and yet they sell tons of these rings because they choose their words wisely for advertising. Nothing wrong with LLI's explanation and I am glad they clarified it. 🤙
I got one from the first batch, the only 2 things I was slightly bummed about, not a big deal but I didnt realize there was no light pipe, again not a big deal, but I do appreciate the low battery warning and I know that adds some level of electrical complications, and the lack of a battery cap lanyard. Also when pre ordering, we were told to pick a color of cerikote, I was pretty excited about it but than was told they couldn't do it. The finish is nice but the first night I took it out, some of the double anodizing came off and its showing the magnesium-titanium. Still pretty happy with it
Can you do a halo test with this housing with the carson optics vs the 50° fov optics? You have a pair of tubes with .69 and .55 halo i want to pull the trigger on. However I want to see the halo like you did in the other test. Maybe I should fly out
Had an issue with my MH-1 (should be receiving it today from repair) and contacted both CNV and LLI regarding it when I noticed the problem. Both companies were fantastic (as in better than any customer service I've dealt with in my entire life) and quick in trying to get me taken care of and keeping me updated with what is going on. I cannot recommend either company enough, they were phenomenal to deal with.
I find their customer service to be good. They will fix any issues you have. They might not be the most cheery, but they will get it done. You can see Kevin’s demeanor from his videos.
