Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Please make more videos on the techniques of you can. There are a million videos on painting model car but so few on these low rider paint styles. A series the whole way through a paint project would be great. Thanks again. Looks brilliant.
AWESOME work. Great inspiration for someone getting back into modeling after 30+ years. I'll be posting my first rebuild of my 1980 Turbo Trans Am soon. New Subscriber.
Hello DanD, There is a TON of oppurtunity for paint to bleed beneath tape here. Do you have a strategy to mitigate that? A ton 'o burnishing? A clearcoat spray after laying in the mask? Please give a few technical bits? BTW - it's lovely to see. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
Fantastic Dan! I just finished the '58 Star Chief that I bought from you. Wanted it white with Tropicana turquoise cove and roof. I sprayed Nason 2 stage clear right over the bare white resin with no problem! On a scale of 1 to ten, your cars are a solid 12!
get out of my head, i just finished watching low-rider paint jobs and was thinking of doing it scale model 1/25th... thank you thinking of doing some aluminum patterns too... should work.
If you are having pealback problems I would recommend making sure you are adding the 4030 or the 4050 in with your color, it should take care of any adhesion problems. The only clear I spray in-between paint is some of the 4050 if I think a area needs a little more protection. Thanks! 👍
I thought i recognized that Tealalicious color, i did a 442 with it last year. Awesome job with that caddy!! What did you spray the metal flake with, it looks too big for most airbrushes? And where did you get that from? You have some skills, and a sub!
You are right, you can not spray the flake with a airbrush. When I spray .004 flake I use a tuch up paint gun with a 1.0 tip size, And use createx 4030 as the carrier. Thanks 👍
