Stunning and beautiful work. I’ve just painted a deck for my granddaughter not nearly to the standard of your work and I think I’ve made so many mistakes after watching this. I’ve since bought another to do so after watching you…onward and upward. Thank you for the tips.👍🏻
PLEASE READ: This was a symbolic gift for a loved one. This was NOT turned into a skateboard. Wanted to clarify that this painting was NOT made into a skateboard! I used the skateboard wood because I loved the shape it has. It now hangs in a beautiful home as a painting framed!! Elevated
@@JJ-el6qx it should be okay as long as ur not planning on doing any board slides or other sliding tricks. If u just use it to ride around it might wear off over time but that happens to all skateboards
Thanks for clarifying this Jess I was worried that somebody will stand on it.. Buddha is our god so was just concerned.. your art is such an inspiration lots of love ❤️
Just when I thought I found all the best painters on RU-vid, I find you. About your initial drawing, did the mountains and sunset not work out? When you got to the painting stage, the background was different. I prefer it - less busy.
thats right, I realized that it was too bust initially and decided to simplify with one sunset in the back and one mountain :) thanks also for the kind words I really appreciate it
I looked at this several months ago Jess. I just love your artwork As for artist like yourself would it be easier and nicer if you were able to cut out the sanding stage? By buying a blank skateboard deck without the varnished surface. Just a thought
definitely achieved epicness i would cop that board in a heartbeat wouldnt even have think bout it ps. this my sister account lol also the other side would be dope to put hella stickers then put a clear grip tape
Those colors!!! It's as if the painting is coming straight through the skateboard. I absolutely love the mix of styles you've incorporated, from the more stylized waves to the more subtly painted mountain and sky. The glossy varnish was such a great idea too!
Would've been so cool if you made it a full dip. Just imagine the top of the board featuring the back view of the image and the waves all throughout the deck top and bottom.
Can you explain how you set up your illustrator to get tile printing? I’m having a very difficult time figuring it out. my images don’t seem to be printing large enough to fit the entire page like yours does. what were the specs and sizing of your image from procreate! help!!!
Your art's really amazing and I've been really inspired in a while but actually painting lord Buddha on a skateboard isn't such a good idea. I mean that in Hinduism standing on a holy object is an offence. We don't even wear shoes at holy sites or temples.
thank you I would never do such a thing. But I mentioned that this is hanging as a painting in a beautiful home. It’s not made into a skateboard. I just used the skateboard as a shape
Your art is amazing. But it is culturally inappropriate to paint Buddha on a skateboard if it is meant to be used. As Buddhists, we prefer taking off our shoes when we enter the temples or monasteries, let alone step on the idol of Buddha.
Hello. Thank you for your comment. I am well aware of that and this paint was not used for a skateboard. The board was used just as a shape for the canvas. - the painting hangs in a beautiful home elevated and is cherished.
I just discovered you and your exceptional artwork. You have inspired me to open my sketchbook more often 😍 I was recently thinking of doodling on my SO's work desk as a gift.. li'l confused about sandpaper grade. Any ideas as to what grade would suffice for a basic ply wood top?
Honest question. She mentioned in other comments that the piece is hung on the wall and was never intended to become a functional/used skateboard. Is that ok? Or is the problem that it would have been stepped on/degraded as a functional board? Just genuinely wanting to understand
This piece is amazing! You get a feel of peace and calm the way you set the warm tones of the setting sun against the water. And the reflection on the water is awesome! Great job!
Thanks for the comment, I do not expect people to stamp on Buddha. I clarified to a few people that this was not being made into a skateboard. It hangs as a painting in a home. I used the skateboard as a surface but no wheels were put on this board!
I do skateboards a lot and your work is beautiful! If, in the future, you want to make the skateboard functional, use a resin on top instead of varnish and then re-drill the holes.
My only one question to you is, why Buddha on the skateboard? Why not Jesus? Do you get into trouble by painting Jesus on a skateboard and stumping on him?
Amazing! You definitely made this an “epic skateboard deck” Loved how the waves turned out and your smooth transition of the red to the blue, in the Buddha’s fabric. Very very nice, how did the varnish turn out? Were the brush marks visible? Ive only used resin so far, I love it but it’s pricy and would like to try out a varnish next
You are a good artist but you have painted a buddha ji on skateboard?? Do you have any knowledge about him? Will you keep your feet on Jesus or any other religious painting?
Looks awesome. Very vibrant colors! :D Could you also skateboard outside with this vernis layer on top without it wearing? (Off course asuming you don't do tricks and hit the middle of the board on the sidewalk or something) As in is it also weather proof like a normal coating/artwork of a board?
Just watched the items video you posted, I saw the board and now I'm watching this video. I love the Buddha and I'm interested in buying the drawing of that. I've always tried to draw one but it never turned out great. Please say you have some original Buddha drawings to spare. Have many Buddha's in my house and this drawing would be a great addition 😊 👌 love the video and your artwork and channel 💜🙏
