I also modified the display case of mine by placing an actual carry handle (just one of those black plastic thingies you often see in cardboard boxes) where the original has a painted one, so the display case is a carrying case, too.

Nice 1! BTW, I took some of your advice painting wood and it worked very well, I usually using brush for weathering, I will try black + sharpie the next time!
