You won't believe that people spend 150+ bucks for "custom made" reflectors. Doing it this way cost less than $20. Great video.

Great video and it is exactly the information I need. I already have bought a ready led light kit that fit on my bumper that lights up when braking and turning but just after one year one side had many bulbs burnt out. Then on the following year the other side had many bulbs burnt out. I know this is happening on other people lights in my forum with these lights so this is not an isolated problem. So rather than buying another kit which will have the led burn out again I decided to do this mod instead. I am going with 5050 SMD leds for a shorter width rather than the 5630 leds like this video. If any of these leds burn out I still have a hole roll of leds still left over to fix the light.

Use telephone wire. It's easier to work with and solder instead of copper braided. It's not as fat. I wired an entire kitchen, 60 feet, of led lighting that way.

This are awesome videos as well as all other your videos on your channel. Thank you. May I ask you a question? I wanted to install led lights into the fake exhaust openings of my 2023 VW Taos. Everything worked well after connections to existing lights. But when we closed the tail gate, they started to act erratically and couldn’t get them to work properly. What could be the problem? Nice video.. This was something that i was considering doing .. But was looking at buying mine already done.. but the price was too steep.. This is a better way.. Are you going to wire it so that it's one brightness when the lights are on and then full bright when you press the brakes?...i am not sure but it looks like that in the video...

Just bought a 2017 pathfinder and have been relishing your videos. I’d like to connect through the wiring harness but am having a time locating it. Before I start taking apart the rear end, can you give me a clue as to where to look? Your videos have me pretty comfortable removing interior panels now but I’m a bit hesitant to go on blindly dismantling my new (to me) pathfinder.

They are 7 mil nitrile gloves (not the usual 4 mil gloves that break easily). It's similar to this one amzn.to/2mvpre0

hi, where did you get the 1st set of lighted reflectors from (the ones that failed initially)?

On Ebay. I later opened one of the failed one and found that the design is flawed and they will ALL eventually fail because the circuit is missing a current limiting resistor.

The controller box that comes with the reflector do not have current limiting resistors built in, and not suppose to have it. They should be incorporated inside the LED reflectors itself.
