I’ve had an cougar claw stand for about 20 years and it’s a great stand! Never a problem with slipping and very solid. When I wanted new cables I called and talked to the owner not voice message. The replacement cables arrived quickly. Very pleased with product and service.
The adjustments on the cougar stand looks cool but watching how long it took to pack it up with all the stands, really makes me realize how simple my Ol' man cts grand is. I basically just put the platform inside the seat and stretch a bungee across and I'm done. No buckles, straps or anything else to fool with
Great review and very thorough. The stand seems great but not being able to use the Hazmore is a deal killer for me. I know there are other seat options but the Hazmore on my Summit works the best, I also have the Hazmore cushion. I like the metal buckles on the Thirdhand straps but I like the idea of the plastic buckle, which are probably good enough, is something I might do instead of always stringing the strap through the metal buckle all of the time.
Hey Chuck. I had two stabilizer straps made by a local leather shoe repair shop using 2” heavy duty IWT plastic buckles. They worked great until they broke. When you reach your hunting height and cinch them down tight, they lasted exactly 12 hunts before they broke from stress. I bought 1” metal buckles off amazon and 1” OD green smooth nylon webbing and they work great. Just my $0.02. Stay with the metal buckles.
@@RingerCams good to hear! Must be a good stand! I just got a new bubba prowler in the mail yesterday. Kinda wish i would have gotten the super sport now after watching your video. I like how you can use it as a sit to climb and a gun rest.
@@AllanWeder-vu3ji I would reach out and see if he would let you make a swap. You might be surprised. He’s an outstanding owner and businessman. Especially if you haven’t really unboxed it or scratched it in anyway.
@@RingerCams i thought about doing that or seeing if he would sell just the top section because the bottom is the same. I took it out of the box. Haven’t even put it together yet
I have not experienced any difficulties in fact less than that of a summit. At least with the CC it is never detached. When you remove one pin, the other remains in place. Whereas the summit you have to ensure that one of the locking nuts comes out of the channel and depending on the pressure on the stand or climber at that time has the potential to slip out. Same with noise, I find my summit to be louder. Lucky there are plenty of stands for folks to choose from these days as we all have our preferences.
A little quieter than my summit. It doesn’t make any unnecessary sound. I’ve seen the other YT review where the user said it creaked…I’ve had this out in single digit temps with below zero wind chills and it never made an unnecessary/unusual sound
