Custom Type 56 Chest Rig,
When running AK's, I still didn't had anything good to put my mags in. When I started the search to find something, I was dissapointend in the things that I found. I did not found something that fitted my gear and playstyle. So instead of using something that is just 'mèh'. I bought myself a Type 56 Chicom (chestrig) and modified it until it fitted my needs.
I want to thank Skinny for helping with this project because I such with a sewing machine.
In this video I tell you why I made it and what I changed to it. This is one of the simplest chestrigs you can buy, but that is the thing I love about it.
It's simple and it does the trick.
Enjoy the video.

An old Russian trick from the Soviet-Afghan War: boil the chest rig in hot water for a few minutes, then stuff two mags into the pouches, with a piece of cardboard in between each mag. The hot water will stretch the fabric out, and the cardboard will give you tiny bit of extra room to actually insert/remove the mags easily. Leave the mags and cardboard in until it dries, then boom, it can carry 6 mags.
@VerageAirsoft
@VerageAirsoft 2 года назад
Oooh, that's a good tip. You think they would stretch far enough to take the newer mags? They have a bit of thicker plate at the bottom.
@alexismakarove5600
@alexismakarove5600 2 года назад
@@VerageAirsoft yeah, but the other side of this tip that you can't close the pouch with default flap (but as I can see, you don't use it anyway). It works for 762, 545 and even RPK-style mags for 40/45 rounds

Got me a chicom 3mag rig and made it into a placard like parashooter's. I didn't want to pay the 100 dollars so i spent 18 bucks on Amazon, watched a few videos on how to use a sewing machine and got to work. Imma have to do one like yours after i saw this video.

Looks awesome, sometimes looking into a chest rig as well. But for now I’m sticking with what I have. As some gears still need to be field tested. Shows what you can do if it is not to your liking, you make it your own.

@VerageAirsoft 2 года назад
A chestrig is the way to go for me. It has a lot of advantages to plate carriers. Keeping in mind that we're airsofters and plates do not save our life. You're talking about a very important part of everything, field testing your gear! A lot of people forget about that :D

Thank you for NOT being a dweeb and replacing the perfectly good wooden toggles on the mag pouches. I still think you maybe went a bit overboard with the buckles, but I've also been stuck inside a chest rig too, so I get not wanting to do that. I think my favorite mod to laugh at though will always be adding a buckle to the rear strap. If you get tired of running into your big whip antenna, Nagoya makes an awesome little 5.5 inch antenna tuned for GMRS bands (if you're into that sort of thing). I believe its the 701-G.
@VerageAirsoft
@VerageAirsoft 2 года назад
Haha, love this :D The mix between the old and the new should be preserved. The buckles were not the original plan but a welcome. Suprise when she finished it. :P And yes, I got stuck and that chestrig before, then you feel stupid :D. 'Help, I'm stuck' :D I switched to a longer one to get it a bit higher and so it comes over my head while sending. Otherwise my body can be in between the signal. Thanks for this awesome comment :P
