I love custom fitted tool holders, and one of the fun things about being a woodworker is that you can make all the custom tool storage that you desire.
The main goal was to have a place to store a dedicated ratchet + socket in the garage, right next to our car mount bike rack. That way it is always RIGHT THERE ready to be used in mounting the rack onto the car. No need to go searching through the house for the correct tool.
And at the same time, I also have a compressor close at hand, so I also added some tool storage for a tire pressure gauge, a refill nozzle, and while I'm at it some screwdrivers, pliers, and a spare tape measure.
Any why not make it out of walnut, since we can?
