Mitsubishi ASX got recovered in and the complaint was that it will not crank. The starter would turn but the engine wouldn't. I was expecting to find a faulty starter or a ring gear problem but not this........
We had a customer like that he was deaf use to max rev his engine and ride the clutch he was in every six months new clutch. good camera work much enjoy watching you work. retired now myself 😁👍
My wife's dad was an old gentleman, hard of hearing who always drove with his left foot on the clutch pedal. I put two new clutches in his Nissan Sunny in 15,000 kilometers. The most burnt up flywheel and pressure plate I'd ever seen. Couldn't break him of the habit to the day he died.
Nice to work on clean cars. 😁 As a thought as it's aleady eaten the factory and replacement clutch, did you check the 'freeplay' on the system as it could be either a parts SNAFU with a wrong rod/ slave cylinder or a faulty master cylinder or adjustment holding pressure after the pedal is released. Used to get this on Series and Defenders where the master had been set-up wrong. Had an Escort XR3 not even an i, that after a few brake applications the brakes would drag on. Faulty set up from the factory.
It's definitely driver error, it's an old bloke that owns it. He's riding the clutch and making it slip. He's been told and the response from people like that is the same "I've been driving for xxx amount of years, don't you tell me how to drive" and yet you go up the road with them and watch them ride the fuck out of the clutch. You can't educate people like that so I just let them get on with it.
I'm waiting for Grant to get his arse in gear and get either an engine or a head, pistons & rods to fix the old one. As soon as I'm on it, there will be a video.
