Retired now and out of the game but still try and help out friends and family and came across your channel as a friend has a difficult to diagnose issue with the can bus coms error, U codes on a ford Bmax. Loss of pas, no rev counter working etc and crank sensor fault code which has bee changed three times by two different garages. I haven't really got the skill set or background in modern vehicle deep diagnostics so I doubt I can help but will run my own scan. I honestly wish you were close by Im pretty sure you would pick up there issues quickly. Brilliant chanell and so refreshing to see how methodical and thorough you are, far too many garages look at the fault codes, guess and take a punt costing the customer ridiculous sums and getting nowhere.
Great to see someone who genuinely takes pride in their work it's so easy for a customer to be fobbed off with poor quality work sad to say it's all to common but you show how it should be done including repairing stuff not connected to the original fault brilliant work 👏👏👏
Brilliant work Ryan... That Audi was a peach.. I hope the owner gets a refund for the work he paid for that obviously wasn't done. He was well & truly swikked.. A close neighbour had to replace the foot break switch on his Chinese MG, so it might just be a common issue.
Hi Ryan, had a look on the MG diagnostics manual for B1066, there's a few possible causes and the diagnostic procedure is a bit lengthy for a comment, if you want I can text your work number my google drive link for the manuals and wiring diagrams That Audi is a disgrace! Who would put their name to that!? Like you said take pride in your work Puts a bad name on the trade when people think it's acceptable to charge someone for that (wouldn't even call it a repair) Good honest work as always!
A really good job done sorting out that poor wiring job the previous garage did. Your customer must have been very pleased with the professional repair you did for them.
Well done, Ryan. I hope your customer has some recourse to get his money back. Great to see your work ethic. It’s always hard to be motivated when you are faced with such a crappy bodge job!
Ryan, respect to you for taking pride in your work and repairing other peoples mess. Your honesty, respect and expert hard work will mean you will never be short of customers who appreciate you 💪👍🏻👏
Ryan you a good engineer with good business ethics. Hopefully your Audi customer can use your video as evidence to the outfit that winged and bodged it or as evidence in the Small Claims Court (or Scotland’s equivalent) to get full redress.
Been watching for a couple of months now brilliant videos nice to see auto electrical channels watch you, lm auto repairs diagnose dan and r and m diagnostics. Keep going with the high quality work
My 1999 bmwE38 air bag light on the garage said its sensor the pad in the passenger seat £180 for new pad . i bought a bypass plug £6 Ebay I pluged it in under passenger seat lights been out 3 years now .
Bloody upsets me mate I’ve been on the spanner’s since 1975 seen that sort of repair if you can call it that plenty of times and it sickens me to think they are in my trade. Sad thing is they will have made more money on that job than you did Grrrrr.
More reason not to buy category damaged cars… see plenty of RU-vidrs like Matt Armstrong bodging up cars any which way they can to money… new owners none wiser & could potentially have airbag sensors shorted out or not secured properly
The part at the end with the mg and brake pedal position switch code…… does the pedal need pressed to start?. Reason I ask is my dad’s berlingo semi auto would have a gearbox fault during the summer then vanish in cold weather. Turned out the switch was sticking slightly in hot weather and because the box uses the sensor as part of the system it was throwing the code thinking the brake pedal and accelerator were being pressed together. So I’d say if the switch on the mg is stuck then could cause a no start
Great video but I'm interested in which data software you are using Ryan? I have Autodata, Haynes Pro and I've just started with Hella but the way you hyperlinked to the location pictures is a game changer. Keep up the good work 👏
Yep that makes sense and I'll have to look into getting it because the VAG group isn't covered that well in any of the all makes software. I did look a few weeks back at alldata but it was taking longer to navigate through their pages than it was to find the fault with it. Thanks for your help Ryan I look forward to your next video 😊
New crank sensor and ECM is the fix for that MG fault. Very common issue. I've done plenty now me being a MG mastertech. Brake pedal fault is a generic dtc
Hi , just lately found your channel and it is very informative . Just wondering , the program for your wiring diagrams what is the name ? I am located in the Bahamas and tend to come across cars from around the world so access to information is key . Both left hand and right hand vehicles . Thanks in advance
I hate that. I have never done that. Repairing folks cars is like working with children most folk no nothing about cars and are easily taken advantage of with folk with no morals. It’s disgusting. Heat srink solder connection s don’t like it either better solider and heat shrink tube👍
@@mrautoservices7354 thanks pal ime a semi retired auto electrician started in 1978 / and just about still going all the best for the future .great content.
Oh re the mg .i repair accident damaged stuff it what i do Any way got a mg3 repaired it all fine. Was out on a drive testing it stoped at traffic lights stop start cut the engine then would not restart . I then had to cycle the ignition it started . That was once it did that then sometimes it would not stop start then it would . Finally before I moved it on I was just reading the codes for fun it flashed up 8 fault codes various code abs engine ecm ect for about 1 second then 1 second later they all vanished. Very strange . Chinese electronics will never buy one again. God only knows why it did it truly it was like there was gremlin’s in the electrical system never again . Do your customer a favour them them to get rid
HI Ryan, maybe pedantic here, but in your vids you always refer to "US" or "WE" being called out to a job, but only seems to be you around. Is that just the way you call it, and you are IT???? Love your vids BTW, you are a master technician. I'm an old guy, who has worked with wiring of all sorts, all his working life. I have never seen anything like what you do. Keep it up young man, and keep showing us what and how you do it, brilliant!!!!!
Hi Ryan absolutely love your work pal, so refreshing to see someone honest & with pride in their work, what's the best way to contact you pal regarding a job?
Obviously your customer bought the car from a non MG dealer and that's why they called you but if they had bought that brand new or used from a MG dealer it has 7 year/70,000 mile warranty that is passed on to new owners.
Hi I'm the customer and we bought it from Arnold Clark MG but they couldn't have a look until end of July and can't be waiting that long. Waited 5 months for Arnold Clark Honda to replace my engine under warranty recently so not willing to wait as need the car
@@rudolphhukker.-dx7wy yes I understand but we could have it sitting for 2months waiting on Arnold Clark to fit us in so we were happy to pay to have it diagnosed and the repair made
