It helps so much to see other artists share the awkward stage of their work. It can be hard to push through when you have spent so much time and effort on a piece only to still be in the awkward stage. But it's proof that you can make it past it.
Gorgeous colours and the sealing with the Unicorn paint. Sweet. I'm Australian and named a black cat called Vegemite. In keeping with the food theme, I think your cat embodies 'Nutmeg'.
Hi Miranda, I love art so much but it seems like I've been having of art block FOREVER, so anytime your sketchbook ideas come out i'm always in relief! Thank you for making videos, it hard for me to make videos but with you having twin and still making art and finding time for art... it just AMAZES ME!!!! 😊
You are allowed to re-watch and make multiple pictures of Mira's art block ideas. I find it helpful sometimes to re-watch because I am surprised at how different the results come out. Also sometimes I have 2 or more ideas so I keep some for times I need them. I hope that you get through the block soon.
I find that when I have art block either making or finding a prompt list to follow always helps me. If it's not inktober (I don't follow the creator's list or if I do I don't post it because of the past controversy. I don't stand with those who plagarize, especially those who plagarize someone who is or has once been considered lesser than them in some way. In this case it's not only a race thing but he stole from a RU-vidr with a lower sub count too. Not cool. So I refuse to promote him and his products... anyway back to my point) or Junicorn or something, I'll think of the kind of thing I like drawing at the moment. Right now it's snakes and princesses. Then I google "princess prompt list" or "snake prompt list". I find there are lists for pretty much anything. I also like to mix and match. So like, if I'm feeling horror creatures, I'll google "monster girls" and make a monster princess. Or like, I'll google fantasy creatures and make some kind of snake fantasy creature hybrid... for example, snakicorns and merserpents, etc. It is not only great for making decently unique art but I find it really helps broaden my imagination on whole. I even once asked my hubby and son each go give me a fantasy/mythological creature. One said mermaid and the othrr bigfoot... so I made a bigfoot mermaid!
@@paranoiarpincess I truly respect & appreciate you for understanding why that particular plagiarism scandal was uniquely hurtful. When I have art block I go back to basics & focus on tutorials. To boost my creativity I like to paint blobs & see what I can turn them into.
@@nilawarriorprincess This comment meant a lot to me. Thank you so much for acknowleging (sp sorry, I'm on my device that doesn't have autocorrect/spellcheck) and validating my emotions and opinions on the matter. I never want to be completely direct about things like this because I believe in equality, whereas a lot of people think I either over or under correct in matters like these, so I find being a little vague makes it a little more pleasant for everyone, but I can tell you genuinely get where I was coming from and I am so glad I could garner respect and appreciation ovee it. I hope this makes any sense. If not, it's really just an all too elaborate way to say thank you, and that I appreciate you back. ♡♡
One of my cats is named Icky. When I first got her as a crazy, CRAZY kitten, there was a lot of shouting "Don't eat that! That's icky!" "No! That's icky for you!" so that's how she got her name, from her love of eating icky things like lotion. LOL.
That's adorable. One of my cats got his name in a similar way. He was the only boy so he was bigger & twice as fluffy as his sisters. I often called him my a fluffy little daddy & eventually it became Fluff Daddy
That was great fun & I learned quite a lot about how to prep a flask to paint!! Thank you Mira! Thank you for sharing your time, your wisdom/skills and your amazing talent!👍🤟🪡🎨
i used to watch you and i hadn’t watched in a while and i feel like you’ve grown so much since the last time i was here!! i reallly loved this video and how funny and comfortable you seemed 🥹
Haha, loved your face when ya started with the sand paper!😂 This reminds me of the early Mira videos ❤ Those cat’s eyes, WOW!! Thanks for sharing and give those twins a big hug for me😊
The flask came out so amazingly. Thank you for the customised giveaway. So special! I am skipping this giveaway because, even though I have an Instagram, I do try to skip giveaways because I want to enjoy RU-vid for my own sake, not what I get out of it. However when there is something I need, or I cannot resist, I enter. I also sometimes just give in to the desire to enter, but I absolutely love this customisation. So beautiful. Whoever wins, enjoy it. Please do some customisations. I really enjoy them because you do. You were spot on with your editing. Crashed it. Love your content.
Phillip!!! So cute, definitely think you should’ve added the tail coming up in the back of the cup😉😆! I love how the colors tied together in the end! I love your work!
That ended up looking so good! We know a lot of artists who don't like sanding, and there are some good reasons to keep it to a minimum in a home studio. Priming, on the other hand, is something we are annoyingly passionate about. We can hear all the groaning and sighing at that last sentence, so we'll just close by saying thanks for another great video from one of the best, most entertaining teachers on RU-vid!
Cute and fun! It was fun "hanging out" with you =) My family's last cat had a unique name: Shamgar. He's an obscure Bible character--only mentioned in 3 verses. He was a fierce warrior though, so that seems fitting for a mini tiger =P
Omg I am so early I love you so much miraa 💗💗btw I love how the entire time you were just saying its OK to make mistakes because making mistakes is the most thing that annoys me and just makes me give up on all the drawing so thank you for helping me
1:10 I'm sitting here with my eyes closed listening at times because I'm so sleepy this morning, trying to wake up! And, when you said "Hy-dro-flask" since I wasn't looking at the screen that showed the word "Hydroflask", and something about the way you said it, I thought you said "Hi, Joe Flask!" just for a split second. Haha 😂🤣
This 1:47 😂 ... Adorable Hydro Flask! You really got me at 13:55, thought my cats were about to fight, LOL. A pet's name? I took in a stray cat years ago and needed to come up with a name. I happened to be driving on Jem St. at the time and thought Jem was a great name for her (I always called her Jemmy ❤).
There was this little stray black cat in my old neighborhood. He must have been through something because he leaned to one side a little and it was so cute to see him looking around a corner. He ended up adopting us as his family and we called him Peekaboo. ❤❤❤❤❤
My chiweenie is Luna & her puppy that died was a girl named Nova. My cats are Haizel, Holis, Tahlin, Loki, Jinx, Mavrix, Merit, Jaspir, Stella, Olivia, Raiven, Gemini, Genesis, Montana, Fern, Silas & Paisley. We have rescued lots of stray kitties, we love the kitties.
Hello fellow cat person. My mother always found stray kittes & we had about 9 cats at once. As an adult I have 5. A stray I found had 4 kittens & I kept them all. I couldn't bear to separate their family.
it would be funny if you made a cat wearing a crazy cat lady Christmas sweater lol. I love your art and when you post it always makes my day and you are such a good artist
Ohh fun pet names, our dog is a saint-Berdoodle… look then Up! They are adorable! Anyway, her name is Nana! From Peter Pan, because she sleeps 22 hours a day 😂
I’ve said it before and I am saying it again: thank you for showing us how not to take ourselves too seriously and just jump and create no matter what, to trust the process and embrace mistakes and just problem solve as you go along, and for being a great example of what an “artist” is-you don’t need to create “serious,” “high,” and traditional art all the time to be considered one. 💜 You make art we all love and relate to because it comes from your soul. P.S. I have an orange cat called Diego Kumquat (a tiny orange), so I joined the giveaway on Instagram! 🧡
8:50 not ur phone telling you “pLEASE STOP” w/the safari tabs-but also the fact that i’m not alone! 😂 my boyfriend is always telling me to close my safari tabs on my phone 💀
BTW thank you! I love your channel and I've learned so much watching you and your style. I love your quirkiness. I wish I could relax when facing a daunting commission. But, alas, I am uptight. Been working on a dog it's killing me, I started the darn thing in August! I have never been given a single pic and she looks, if a dog can be uptight, uptight. Most clients give me a bunch of photos. This way I can get to know the dog and can do it with a light heart. Anyway, Thanks Mira.
I have a cat named Bubbles, because we found her at a car wash. My Parrotlet is named Aoki (translated as Blue Tree). I have two Canaries, Sasami and Tenchi for Tenchi Muyo. My Amazon is named Alexei (for a hockey player). LOVED this video so much!!
So I have a cat named McFly. I named him that before he was old enough to come home with me, because of the Back to the Future time travel reference. He's sleeping on the couch next to me right now, and he FREAKED OUT at your grumpy cat sounds!! 🤣
Hi Mira. Loving the all the new videos. I, too, have an issue with sensory issues. Try wearing ear plugs next time; sometimes that will help. I also ask my hubby to do things like that so I can enjoy the creating/painting stuff even more.
I have sensory issues too I hate the noise of the sandpaper against metal its icky. One of my 4 cats has a kind of unique name, his name is Alazee (ah-la-zay) its supposed to be spelled Alize like the liquor (idk why we changed it lol). The other 3 are Sage, Sapphire and Oliver (sapphire is the only girl). I hope you have a great day Mira! :D
Oh pet names. My time has come haha. So when I moved out on my own, all I wanted was a kitty. I love cats and they make me so happy. Unfortunately, one of my roommates was allergic to cats when I was finally in a place big enough to warrant getting one. So, I decided instead to get a gerbil. She was a seal point patterned gerbil which meant she had the markings of a siamese cat. Because she had famous cat markongs and I wanted a car sooooo badly, I named my gerbil "Kitty." A few months later my friend had a friend who had a stray birth kittens under her porch. I had a massive room and asked my roommates if I could get a cat if I kept it in my room. They agreed. I had named my kitty waffles but she didn't seem to like it much. I asked her what she wanted her name to be and she made this cute little trill that sounded kinda like a cricket. So I asked if she wanted to be named Cricket. She meowed. Cricket it was! So i then got a betta fish. He had these beautiful white fins that came off his face so I decided to name him Sabretooth. My thing became naming animals after other animals. My sister names her animals after food so when I changer Cricket's name, she said no. To this day she will only call her Waffles lol. My son recently got a snake. He is what is called a blue eyed leucistic, ball python. That means he is all white with blue eyes. Because one of my son's favourite characters is a blue eyed skeleton, he named his snake after him. So snake is named Sans. He's named after a comedian (Comic Sans lol) so the fact that he is adorably goofy fits perfectly. We eventually want to get another snake anf name him Serif lol.
Pro tip for the sand paper Sensitivity :) if you put some head phones on and some gloves. I think I used polyester winter gloves, not sure if it matters what kind of gloves, but it could make a difference. Then depending on the project try to make limited eye contact with it or just use your peripheral vision if you can. (My mom can’t do that well with her eyes). And lastly if you still feel uncomfortable do those things while also thinking about other things actively do sand paper doesn’t even cross your mind. If you try it let me know in a video, I’ll be watching :)
I really liked the iridescent paint a lot! For you "question of the day", we have a cat who has a unique name: Yuriy. It is pronounced ur-ee According to Siri it's Russian for George. We also have a bunny named Rosie, and a dog named Amber :D
I painted my water bottle and I use it everyday. I never used to use a bottle consistently. I would buy new ones because I was bored. But I love my painted one☺️
This was so fun to watch! what an adorable cat. I have 8 chickens and one of them has feathers on her feat that kinda look like stockings. So, we named her Pippi longstocking from the book! 😂 So sorry to say goodbye to the nasty spray bottle😢
Our rescue cat is called Dusty bc he turned up at the rescue I work for absolutely covered in dust. Fast forward 8 months and I've never met a cat that gets SO dirty, everyday, several times a day we're brushing him BC he just comes back covered in dust/ leaves/ dirt/ whatever badness he can get himself in haha
Cute design!! Poscas are so much fun. I have a cat named Blaze and the point where you have the cat meow in the video, I looked up to see what was up with my cat. But he also looked up to find the cat. Took me a minute to realize it was the video. 😆 I've been seeing those stupid spammers all over RU-vid. Obnoxious. 🙄
My pups name is Domino because he’s black and white 😁 He is a Havanese, so stinkin cute and fluffy and he knows tricks. He can do things such as dance and shake your hand. Love your art work. I found you through Moriah, glad I did 😊
This is so cute!! I love your animals in clothes paintings!! I have an orange cat named George!! I also have a Poppy, Hazel and Annie. The only slightly unusual one is our bunny, his name is Monty, after Monty Python.
I’m waiting for a giant painting of all the blubbleflies she has created as well as new ones she decides to make up! Like on a canvas or as watercolor/gauche like her greenhouse, idc! I just want it!!!
I love the animals in sweaters art. Would you consider making some custom designs that could be bought? I’d love something’s you customize just don’t want to depend upon a giveaway only.
Love the hydro flask. I love animals. My girl cat is Sophie and I have a boy cat named Jasper. But for your orange cat I think “Georgina”. I’m sure whatever is chosen will be fun. Have a great rest of your day. Thanks for the videos. Love your channel.
One cat I had growing up just started showing up at our house we fed him we quickly loved him and decided that we wanted to keep him and that he would be an indoor-outdoor cat. He was a big orange cat with big jowls and he had a big soar on his face. Before letting him inside the house we had to get him fixed and get the soar looked at. having these big jowls and the soar on his face made his face look really funny thus we ended up naming him FUNNY FACE, he actually lived to be 20 years old and just passed away in 2020, He was an awesome cat.
I would love that kitty as washi tape or a sticker. Like for the washi tape it could have the kitty every few inches and in between, the little fish and stars.
Our cat's name isn't exactly unique, but the way he got his name is! He was abandoned in a Walmart parking lot so when we adopted him we name him Wally. Our neighbors all call him Walter and he gets treats from just about every house on our street. 😂
