I don't understand why the GPS antenna has to be visible on the dashboard of the car. Realistically, GPS satellites have to pound their signal through 480km of atmosphere so hiding the antenna under a few millimeters of plastic dashboard isn't go to make any difference. I attached my Custron GPS antenna inside the dashboard of my car and have no signal issues. Plus it looks better.
where did you purchase this from .? ebay india or amazon or ... ? i know its too late to ask from what we have in 2012, the one I hold is of 2014, but jus curious if the CAN bus would support does that need any changes or replacements ?
GPS satellites may be in orbit 20,200 km above the ground but earth's atmosphere is 480 km thick. It is irrational to believe that a few extra millimeters of plastic dashboard will make any difference to reception.
As my Fabia does not has steering mounted controls, I had no confirmation, but as the unit is CAN compatible and have options in the settings for mapping the steering buttons, it should work.
