I got this at a store in Miami but it is the same as swimwear fabric. If you shop at Joann’s, they usually call it performance fabric 🫶🏼

It has a couple names lyrica, athletic fabric (same fabric I use for swimsuit) it’s moisture wick

You can do it without it but it just made the cut out parts fit to the body better. Sometimes fabric can get stretch out and not fit snug to the body so the elastic can help with that. But for this project it’s optional.

Yes sewing the elastic onto the edge then folding it over and sewing it again to hem the edges

Lyrica, it’s like a moisture wick fabric. Feels like dri-fit.
