As a baby those kittens need more warmth than a grown cat. Can you imagine how warm his mother was and if he had siblings how warm that litter was when they were cuddled together?
I was going to say perhaps this kitten was removed from its mother and litter too early. You can almost see him start to "suckle" once under the warmth of the blanket.
I like how Nuri's first instinct upon feeling the warmth of the blanket was to lick it possibly even teet from it. I don't remember what Vsauce mindfield episode it was, but in the video they showed that newborns will always go for the warmer object believing it to be their mom, even when neither of the objects presented are even alive.
I'm not sure of the vsauce vid but the experiment you're likely thinking of is the wire mother/cloth mother attachment experiment by Harry harlow! Results found that subjects(monkeys) found more comfort in the cloth mother iirc
@@Sirens.Lullaby You're right! The wire mother had a bottle the baby monkey could eat from, but it still went back and spent its time cuddling with the cloth mother. So while food is important, attachment likely has less to do with the giving of food and more to do with providing physical, tactile comfort. With baby things, food and physical comfort usually comes as a packaged deal from a singular source (the mother or other feeding caregiver -- you can cuddle and feed a baby without being their mother, after all), so this kitten reflexively searching for a teat upon finding a cozy little nook makes sense.
This is because this little one needs to be with his mama still. So he wasn't weaned properly. Whether Mama died or they separated them early who knows.

I remember seeing our youngest cat (who sadly passed not too long ago) cuddle up to our male cat as a kitten and he gave us all a look that said "this is mine now you stay away" he was always so protective of her and has became needier since her passing
My late cat, would always squeeze between me and the heater on winter days. Even when i was too close as it was.😁 I would have to move me and him a few inches away to insure he didnt become a fireball. And we would then waste an hour laying on the floor in front of a heater watching TV.
@@Dovah_Slayer a sibling of mine's older cat died not that long ago. They have another cat and plan to later on get another cat. The late queen Neko didn't get along with (the then) princess Frumpkin. I'm hoping (the now) queen Frumpkin will get along with the next cat. Neko was adopted middle aged so she had the cattitude that demanded the title of queen being tacked on. Frumpkin was adopted at 1 yr old and learned the cattitude that got her the titles of princess and queen.
Kitten can't generate heat on their own. They tend to get cold easily especially when the kitten is orphan with no other siblings. So don't forget to keep your kitten warm. They're just as delicate as a human baby 😊
Make sense actually. I had to care for an orphan kitten years ago, he was starving and weak, I fed him as best as I could and the easiest solution I'd found so I wouldn't leave him alone too much was to keep him in my bra. He was so small he fit, and he'd sleep a lot. He never had an accident on me either. I'd go in town with him on me, went to the restaurant once even. As he grew older, he would climb in my shirt all by himself. He did this until he was way too big to fit, then eventually stopped by himself and he never showed signs of having been weaned too early like teeting blankets, etc. Good memories.

Room was warm enough.... doubt. Humans may not have fur, but our skin thickens with age _figuratively_ and a giant human is a heat making machine, it would take a big freezer to make a human cold, but only an ice cube to freeze that kitty. Its akin to having a nice gust of wind : for a human is pleasant, for a feather is an airquake. For a kitten it can also be life-altering. They are born in a litter of 3-4+ kittens, each half the size of your palm. If their mother is not present, they curl up together to keep warm. Think about it this way: all that energy they were born with or that they get from their mother, can either be used to heat themselves up, or to grow and be healthy. A cold kitten will use most of its resources to not die from cold, instead of feeding its growth and bone structure, that early in life. Warmth is really important for the first 6 weeks of the kittens life, as important as having warm milk to help digest, without 2 other siblings or a stable sheltered heat source, a lone kitten dies from cold alone in half a day

Just be careful. Kittens can not control their temperature so if they are cold too long they can get very sick very fast. Its why they cuddle in a pile when they are with their litter.
Dad and his wife had a kitten, who was still blind they found. They think the mother might have got scared off by predators. They fed it from one of those tiny bottles. Course, when i visited that first weekend, holding it while they were getting the bottle, tried to nurse from my finger.😂
I think so, may be just 10 days old. Still need adult cat to keep warm. This way this kitten sleep show that he feels cold. The owner should give him more clothes and wraping him.
Think the temp needs to be between 70 to 80 degrees. Probably around 80, cause to much warmth isnt good for them either till they can regulate their own temperature. I'm not a cat expert but there are plenty of vids on youtube that teach people how to take care of abandoned kittens.
@@lemonjinxxy Don’t understand why there’s so much shade thrown between people who use different temperature scales… neither are the “correct” one, Kelvin is but the other two are for convenience. Fahrenheit has more accuracy in minute temperature differences for general use due to the the larger range in freezing to boiling (without having to use several decimal places) while Celsius is more refined for scientific uses. Fahrenheit is used by more than 1% of the world and was in use more just 50 or so years ago (UK just started it’s conversion in the 1960s).
You can warm up a bottle of water, place it under a blanket to keep the kitten warm when you're not around. But of course be sure to come back and warm the bottle back up from time to time. Young kittens cannot regulate their body heat, so they need a source of warmth.
Here are some tips for caring for kittens(because from what I've heard, this little one was rescued from the streets.) Since kittens under 5 weeks can't regulate there temperature, they rely on mom for that I think. So it's best to find a bin, a box, something to put lots of blankets in and for more warmth, it would be ideal to fill a bottle up with warm water(not hot!) And then wrap the bottle around in like a towel. Then you'll place it in the bin or box. And also, since it looks like he was still way too young to be away from suckling (because as soon as he found the blanket it looked like he was trying to suckle) he needs to be bottle fed milk. I don't know of what age he is, but he's supposed to be fed milk until 8-12 weeks of age. And he does not even look close to 8. Not even 6. Also, kittens should not be fed human milk either. Kittens need a certain type of milk that they can digest(or kitten supplement milk) Another edit AGAIN because apparently people don't know that " Human milk " means cow milk, not breast milk 💀 If I meant breast milk I would've said " mothers milk " not " human milk "

I think they were saying that Nuri was cold-not that he'd caught a cold. I don't sneeze when I'm cold, but I do start doing big, almost cartoon-style yawns.
Nuri's mannerisms are so sweet. He looks likes he's sucking his little thumb. He reminds me so much of a precious orange tabby I had named Skipper. Take care of tiny Nuri. 😻🐈🐱🐈⬛
Cats smell everything. Every smell gives them information: is it alive, dangerous, clean, edible, safe, etc. And when they need extra information on a specific smell, they open their mouth and send that odor into a cavity located above their front teeth, behind their nose, where a series of very sensitive scent glands (Jacobson's organ) analyze the smell. That's why you often see cats with a :O expression after they smell stinky feet or another cat's butt! So when they need to use those glands more than once, they will purge that cavity from the previous smell by sneezing. That's all!
While I am watching this my own little Bean is napping in my arms wrapped in a towel. He loves being cuddled in a towel and he was upset a moment ago. Now he's deep asleep.
Whether it's a heating pad, a warm bottle in a blanket/towel or a bed that covers him more, please keep his cuteness extra warm and nourished, since he's so so young to be away from his mum. How is he doing now?

I have two special pet heating pads. They work at low electricity same level as a plug in night light. They are slightly warm and I set them under towels all winter. You can have extras to alternate. I did that for a sick kitty when I was going to work.
A great investment for cat owners is a large heating pad. There are even pet-specific ones now. We have one that we leave on outside on our porch during winter for a few strays that live behind us.
Baby Kitten's need the warmth that their mother offered. Nuri is the cutest little kitten. He reminds me of my cat Salvester. Purring and cuddlling. I suggest you buyi a low laundry basket and placie a few soft blanket's into it. Your kitty will be warm and happy.😺💘
