I've been doing...what I thought, at aged 9 ....macrame . I wanted to say Thank you so 😅 very much for showing me what macrame is truly all about. Being older , I remember the woman of my mothers generation taking months, money , and stress trying to make these huge quilts . Now , we can make one of your gorgeous wall hangings....or other lovely pieces of art , to pass down to our daughters, or even our sons , that are much more time and cost efficient . So ....thank you for giving me yet another opportunity in life to feel gratitude. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS.
Hi Anna I just started watching your videos on macrame I'm a 65 year old woman going to retire soon... I was just scanning through some of the macrame videos I had seen yours and stopped because I loved your project you were working on it was beautiful. I couldn't believe how thorough you were in explaining how to proceed for beginners how to do the macrame. I am a crafter I saw in it I crochet I do wreaths pretty much a lot of different things paint work with wood I've been in construction have my life so my spare time I like to do crafts. When I retire I am going to start on macrame... The last time I have done it was in my high school years in 1975/76/77 ... I remember certain knots but of course I have to get back in the swing of things again and I probably will pick it up again. But watching you is such a joy and I love how you explain from step to step how to proceed in doing all the different knots you're teaching skills are wonderful.I've gone ahead and have ordered all the supplies that I need to start projects I would really like to start selling some when I retire for a little extra income but I'll get to that later on down the line once I start making some of these projects I wanted to do. So anyhow I am going to continue watching you and pick up some of your tricks that you are showing use so keep on making your videos because I will definitely be one watching , you have such an inspiring voice I can't wait to get started.Thank you Anna u been a big inspiration. So glad you’re back and found your inspiration. This chandelier is way above my head I’m going to keep it for future reference and keep watching from Athens, Georgia.
Hey 👋 Anna! So happy you’re back. The chandelier is so beautiful and I love the new colours of the cords from Bobbiny. Thank you for this video always interesting to watch. Have a great day!!! Au revoir 🙋♀️
This is beautiful.. You make it look so easy, I'm thinking I can do this---until you started on the reverse rows. I thought, girl, you better get your first beginner project completed before you jump in way over your head! I'll get there one day.
Your channel is amazing! I'm sure your community would love to see you on Patreon, it's been so rewarding running my own. Also you've inspired me to try some macrame now 😄💕
Oh thank you so much Mimi for the nice comment! I am quite excited to start with Patreon and I am really curious how it will all go 😊 It sounds like we have cross-shared inspiration, I picked up my inktense pencils again after I watched a few of your videos! Macrame is great, I am sure you will have fun with it 😉
I realy like that, very cute, with the different colors. My number favorite piece you made was the one with leather , i just love working with leather !!! I am native american & love leather, beads& feathers. Do you have any pieces with all them 3 in it???
I really really like this design. I can see a whole lot of different versions of this design - maybe alternating square Knots for a few rows to give it a different look or that new bar square knot you learned for one row - wrapping the outer cord of one color to the outer color of the next color, to connect them for just one row, maybe just straight across or maybe draped from one color section to the next. I'm sure I'm not explaining this right but I really loved what you did here and it's inspired me to do something like it with some changes. I have an idea I'd like to run past you. I was imagining hanging my cord on a wood bar....a big piece. Maybe a 3 foot (1 meter?) Bar and using alternating square Knots across the whole. Colors would be light blue, deep sky blue, orange yellow gold sunset colors - Then using a 16 to 18" diameter ring hung vertically in the center of the piece..attach the the top arch of the ring with ddbl half hitch Knots just to the spot where the ring starts to go down, now using sunset colors wrap the left most cord around the ring, then around the same cord to make that new 'bar knot. Continue this pattern around the ring to the bottom and leave a space to connect this band to the one coming down on the other side of the ring but don't connect them yet. In the center of the ring you have a sunset color band attached to the ring and going around the whole inside,, now using the cords in the center of the ring I want a pattern that looks like sunset coming down and a line of blue cord - add cord here and do two rows of dbl half hitch Knots for a line of sea with sunset on the water... and sand colored chords in dbl half hitch Knots. Connect the bottom of the ring with this dbl hh Knots. I'm imagining all the color in the center so that looking at the ring is like looking thru a window onto a beach at sunset. Use the sand, tan natural colors outside the ring to make diamonds or leaves or alternating square Knots the come around the outside of the circle, wrapping one cord around the ring to connect the new section. Make diamond shapes with the last cords on either side but put a bead (color matched) in the center of the diamond- slip the bread up on the 2 middle cords and do dbl half hitch Knots to create the diamond shapes in this last band, trapping the bead in the center of each one. The band of diamonds can come around the ring but I think I'd like to see them hang straight and have them brushed out. In my mind I see natural all around, on top and on bottom and all the color of sunset inside the big ring. I realize I don't Know how to sketch out what I mean but God! I can see it in my head so clear! If anything about what I've described sounds interesting and possible, to you, please let me know. If anyone can do something like this - it's you!! If you reply to this, I'll give you my email address and maybe we can talk. Thanks for the chance to learn from you. It's been too many years since I've done macrame! I can't even remember how to make a plant hanger where I would twist the Knots so they spiraled. Maybe you'll do a tutorial on that. I hop so!
Okay I think I will have to read this a couple times to understand the idea 😅 But it's great if you get a clear picture in your mind, I love when that happens. But also very often I then get disappointed because the clear idea in my mind just can't be done or at least I can't think of a way to do it. So then I have to tweak it to make it work....I will go back to your post and read it again once I have a bit more time to see if I could get the picture 😉 If you want to chat more outside of RU-vid (I know the comments here are very limited) I have a Patreon page here www.patreon.com/uzliky, in all of the tiers you will get Discord access which is a chatting platform where we can also send pictures so that makes it a lot easier. The other two tiers also have calls in them - one is a group call and the other a 1:1 session and we could discuss your idea in either one. Of course it's absolutely fine if you don't want to consider a paid subscription, I would completely understand 😉 And I hope you won't get upset with me for mentioning those options, I don't want to make it seem like I am pushing you into anything 😅
Good, me too 😊 I don't do anything to the cords once I cut them, the braided ones are not really prone to unraveling (at least the ones I am using) so it should be fine...
Not really a problem but as you said you will have to think about the amount of cords and in general how are you going to rework the design to fit on a smaller ring. You could just make each section a bit smaller or you could for example use only one color of cord and leave out an entire section or two and keep the others the same width as I have them…
@@annabaginova01 thanks for replying, I have made many of ur macrame hanging, just wanted to start with chandelier, can u post something similar, Please 🙏
