Yes... Let’s just say Mazy is cute and entertaining without a game to play 😂 But whilst I was editing I think I realised how to play the game in the right way... so maybe we will be practising haha! Thanks for watching! _jessedrent
Our dog loves that first game. Tips: 1) play it when she’s hungry. 2) put ONE small treat that she REALLY loves in each compartment. Smellier the better. Treats do count for calories! 3) put the puzzle on the floor where it won’t slide away from her too easily. 4) she WILL learn to flip the cups over digging at them with her paws, etc. Our dogs use their noses to push, to so I don’t know how that will work for her. Cheer and assist at first. These puzzles fill up hour of time for our puppies!!! XOjennyinseattle
Omg cuteness overload! She had a choice between treats and giving you kisses and she chose giving you kisses. I guess that proves you mean more to her than some treats 💜
Mazy couldn’t have gone to a better home then you and Matt, you and Matt truly are amazing parents, you’re also an amazing person in the equestrian community keep up the work and can’t wait to see you grow even more next year 🤍, you deserve all the support you get from us, keep up the amazing work and never give up 🤍💜 (also can we just appreciate how Mazy looks so cute in a coat/body warmer 🤍🥺)
Great doggie daddy. She is a little doll. You are very patient bu so is she. Great toys. She learns quickly but she will go through a stubborn forgetful phase though.
Jesse....Jesse you definitely had a blonde moment lol,,,,but the 2 of you just made me laugh and brighten my day. Thank you so much. The 2 of you are a perfect match and as always you show how much you love her. Hugs for both of you best always Rusty
Jesse, your video with Mazy was perfect! Love it! I have already watched it several times. Will watch it some more also. You and Matt are the BEST parents. 😍
For the one with the wooden flaps. Pick a really high value treat. Something she goes crazy about. Then feed her a one by putting it in an open space and havung her eat it right from the space. Next time put one in and before she can eat it put a flap over it. Put it down on the floor and keep lifting the flap a bit and messing around with it. You want her to flip the flap out of the way by herself. If you do clicker training you can click each time she attempts to lift the flap so she knows that lifting the flap is the goal. You should be able to find more examples on RU-vid to tell you ways to teach them to play with those games
Poor baby has no idea what you want. I noticed that just as she was about to eat one you touched her. That is all it took to distract her from the food. Looks like you both eventually caught on. Thank you for the smiles. Don't give up on that game. Once she understands what she is supposed to be looking for and the excitement when she finds it, not only will it be more fun but your bonding will be great.
For the other game you should teach her to touch objects with her paw or nose on commamd first before you play it so she learns that touching a specific thing gets her the reward. You can do this by putting your hand near her nose and when she touches it with her nose say touch. Or if you are clicler training then just click and reward each time she touches your hand. If you aren't using a clicker then just say the command word when she touches your hand. After she gets use to touching it to earn a treat you can start saying the command word right before she touches it. Soon you should be able to say the word to get her to touch it. Start pointing at the hand you want her to touch while asking her to touch it. Soon you will be able to point at something and say touch and she will touch it with her nose. You can make a game of the training by holding out your fists with a treat in one and waiting until she firmly nudges the hand with the treat before you give it to her. If you play the game with your hands and get her good at that then the blue game will be easier for her to figure out. For my dog I started with the touch command then once he hadearned that touching and interacting with new things got treats he started trying to interact in different ways. I put down a sturdy low box and when he stepped on it with just one paw I said slap it. Soon he learned to hit things with his paw or touch them with his nose to show which thing he was choosing.
Mazy is such an angel! 😍 sweet girl! And poor Jesse, struggling so much with a dog game 😂 It really looks like a fresh born dad playing with a child!~~
It is very important that she watches you while putting the treat inside the holes. And I also think that she might be a little bit too young for this because she is in this phase where you and Matt are the most important and most interesting tthings in her life... When she is a little bit older the treats become more interesting for her and you will see during walks that she comes to you for treats and not because she only wants to stay with you.
Like you said Jesse, Mazy is just to intelligent for those games but that being said, it seemed to me, once she decided on which game to play with she did really well. Keep in mind that dogs love (usually) to play fetch. I had a friend who's dog wanted to play fetch so much she learned to toss the ball, stick or piece of rope herself and go get it. Sometimes she'd bring it back to the person who was with her and allow them to toss it but if they weren't quick she'd just pick it up and toss it again (as if to show them how it should be done) lol. I absolutely love Mazy, she is to cute for words 💕😊 Thank you for this share Jesse 🌟👏👍
I suggest reaching her basic tricks before teaching her how to play these little games, but it’s awesome that you got them! Make sure you show her the treat first when you put it in, and let her watch you put the treat into the hiding spots. She will eventually pick up on it if you show her multiple times! That being said though, she’s still a puppy and gets distracted super easily (as you know!😂) Also, try to remember not to reward her for not doing your command! Even just a simple little pat or hug, it does count as a reward. Until she does what you want, make sure to continue challenging her :)
NOTHING IS SWEETER THAN JESSE HOLDING MAZY LIKE A BABY!!! The two of them interacting is the dearest thing. Yes, she is too intelligent for the game….I bet you could create a more fun game for her like the equitation obstacle course you did for your horses.
Hey Jesse, I think I know how this would work. First, clean, no treat smells. Put one treat in one only. When she detects it, lift the top and let her get it for herself. Empty ones would need wiping out as you go. She is such a little darling. They probably learn to lift the cover out themselves. I love you and I love that you have this dog now, you needed a dog, they all love you.
I'd try putting the treat under just one cap. She will have a chance to find it better. At the moment, they all have (but one) a treat = confusing. Fun video! Thank you.
When your blonde moment is over and you only add 1 or 2 treats to the puzzle, she will quickly understand. Many dogs love these toys. But she's still a baby, so don't start with your high school diploma right away. Only play short times with this games. It is so nice to see how much love she gets.
The point of such games is for dog to find food ;) Most dogs enjoy looking for food, their noses work and it is a fun enrichment. It helps if you show her where the treats are for first sessions. Hide the treats and when she is looking just uncover them and let her get and eat them by herself. She'll eventually learn how to uncover the treats by herself. I guess she'll enjoy it in the future =)
Some people had some great tips below. Also, train her in the morning before her breakfast so she is hungry and is food motivated. Do a little bit at a time and build up as she gets older. Keep trying every day and she will get it! The more you interact with her, the smarter she will be. Good luck with your beautiful girl! :)
she seems really eager to please! what a sweet girl. She just wants to know what you want from her. you can tell she gets so much enjoyment from your happy reactions. She just wants to make that happen again and again. her breed is very curious and with practice she'll be good at the puzzles. another good thing to try with her are toys that you hide treats inside to find while she chews or plays with it. For best results you want to use treats she really goes wild for. frenchies are gentle chewers and there are puzzle toys made for those kind of dogs. She would also probably love stuffed animals. Don't forget to make sure she is active enough as these dogs are prone to becoming overweight. Teach her Fetch to get her really actively running around. You are so good with your horses, you're going to do great with Macy. I can't wait to see how she grows
Nahh this was a very cute video. I like the outfits she has. Merry christmas to the hole family! Now I have to run over to Matt’s channel to see the pony at the hairdresser.🎄🎄🎄
That puppy is the cutest baby. I am sure she hardly ever leaves your sides. Cuteness on steroids! Maybe she is more interested when a little older? 🍀🌟🎄🐶
I believe those games are more for dogs who are left alone. There are activities & games, usually which includes finding out how to retrieve a treat, for dogs and cats to keep them from getting bored when they’re home alone. The way you love her is adorable, and I can tell she loves you, too. You are a great pet dad. How’s her potty training coming along? She should be taken to use the bathroom when she wakes up, after eating, before bed, and take her before you take her inside a store. Good luck.
Jesse, you are the loveliest guy so warm and caring to all your animals and I wish you well in all you do, both my daughters got Cokapoos for Christmas and they played my grandchild game Connect 4 shot where you have a little box stand which take in all the balls bounced into it until you get four in a row the dogs got involved with the family and it was hilarious they were chasing the balls and running away and when they seen another ball being bounced in they kept the game going for ages bring the balls back I am sure if both you and Matt and the girls all played your wee mazy would love it, If you do try it please film it and show us all the fun. Love watching your antics 💕🐶🤨🧢🐴🎪🏆🥇
My little 7 1/4 pound dog named Miss Linda Odette LOVES her rope bones. They drive her into ecstacy. She loves the small, the medium, AND the big ones! The big one is bigger than she is but she still pulls the rope bone along in her mouth and rolls with it like it were a live creature playng with her! I have video of it! I laugh so hard watching it!
