SO CUTE!!!! I miss my raccoon, "Oscar." She (yes, a female, named after one of the tree service men, who found her in a fallen tree on our property) was a newborn, when she was found. She looked like a large rat with a black mask (which is how I knew what she was). I raised her, and kept her as a pet, because she was terrified of the outdoors (I am guessing from the trauma of the tree falling, and from the sound of the chain saw used to cut it up for removal). She was SO smart, and she was always trying to figure out how things worked. She would take things apart. Even when she knew that I did not want her to unscrew things, she would put one hand in her mouth (like a child), while her other hand was behind her back taking something apart by unscrewing the nuts and bolts. I loved her like a daughter.
For those of you who are saying you want a pet raccoon, maybe consider one or more ferrets. I would still suggest you do your research because they can get into mischief of their very own, but are smaller and better suited to "being a pet". I had 6 of the fuzz-butts (a common nickname) at one point. You can even rescue/adopt them! There's more of these awesome little fuzzys needing good forever homes than you might think! 😊💚
@@TheNakedeyes78 the oldest ones that I have raised were 15/16 years old. Kidney and liver failure mostly in the later years. Other than that they dont seem to get sick as often as dogs do.
One of the best things about RU-vid is it exposes you to random things you would never have thought about otherwise. Who knew a racoon could be a pet and so tame and even cuddly. It's almost like a cat!
MAN! THAT IS TOO COOL!!! I remember going over to my mom's house to cut her grass after getting off from work, we would set outside and talk for awhile. After the sun start to set, me and my mom would feed the raccoons!...Lolololol. Now usually the small baby raccoons was not too good on judging their coordination on how to take the food from your hands properly....sometimes they would get to anxious and almost accidentally bite your fingers. Now thats when the older racoons would kick in and get the food themselves to feed their babies. "RACOONS ARE VERYYYYYY SMART!!!" I miss those days..."outside at dusk with mom,... feeding the raccoons!" R.I.P. Mom: 1938 to 2016.
Does he love you or what? Yeah, he loves you to bits. Enjoy your lives to the fullest. You are both very lucky to have found each other. Thank you for sharing.
I never dealt with them til recently. They clean my deck morning and night from squirrel peanuts. I can now open door and they .. stand for me. I do not want them tame.. I just toss out some goodies and go! Very loving and very smart!
Jan What??? People can learn that! Some are better at this than the others for sure, but it's not ''unique'', snowflake... Also what does it have to do with ''all animals'' if this is the video about a RACOON
Wow! I wish I looked like THAT when I first wake up in the morning. And I love animals too. I'm feeding a whole family of raccoons right now in the middle of Los Angeles. Not to mention my rescued cats and dog! But MAN! I wish I looked like that... No kees on leeps...
