If I were you I would contact the owners through the tax roll and indicate that you are a local person that would be glad to help meeting contractors at the property, etc should they decide to continue the renovations. also let them know that you would love to see their dreams realized. this way if they do decide to sell They would most likely sell to the person who most cares about the project and bring it to reality. Dream big & take action. Good luck!!

This property is basically a weekend getaway. It is extremely small for the price however, it’s complete and hassle free which makes the price interesting. At least seeing this video allows one to examine what purchasing property that needs restoration could look like.

Wow. As a builder I can see so much potential with that place. That view is incredible and i'd say the best property on any property channel i've seen so far. I wish you luck in trying to buy it if you can, it looks perfect.

Many Portuguese people make the huge sacrifice in moving to foreign countries to make enough money to one day return and fix their home, or buy a home. The owners of this house probably had to go and will return one day when they have enough money to finish the house.

You should talk to the locals, contact a real estate agent. Find out who owns this house! Maybe they want to sell it. It would be really sad if they are desperate to sell it and you are desperate to buy it and you never connect...

Maybe the reason it was abandoned is because of the torrent of water that probably comes down that steep road that may go straight into the house or its garden. Be aware of the surrounding area and how the house will interact with the environment when you are buying in places like this. Those sheep are cute but do you want them passing your bedroom at six on a Sunday morning. Are those columns built to a good standard - is there enough rebar in them? Good luck with your search. Portugal is interesting because you can still find properties at good prices. I'm looking in Italy where the prices are way too high. That property with those views in Italy would be at least €150-200K. Of course no one is going to buy it at that price.

Let me guess what the problem is with that property: the owners may have started renovating it and changed or increased the footprint without planning permission, then they got a fat fine and run out of money. They may even have got an order to demolish what they did and put back the original footprint. Happens all the time...! (For those unsuspecting wannabe owners: never buy a property that does not correspond to the legal documents. If it's different from the documents, it's illegal.)
