Thats the best system I have seen for a benchtop jointer so far. I like your extreme infeed and outfeed tables. I have been losing sleep over what set up I should go with. I am torn between buying a benchtop jointer and attempting something similar or just going with a standard sized 6" that is around 4'. I want the long feed tables but dont like extra heavy shop equipment.
I've been having the same problem with my similar jointer trying to true the edge of big long heavy pieces... So I think I'm going to build a "rail", like a beam made from plywood with little tables at each end with adjustable height so I can set it up, tune it, do the work, and store it when not in use. You gave me some great ideas!
Awesome. I want to make a miter saw station and this makes me think maybe I could make it so the saw and the jointer could use the the same space. Just switch em out maybe.
