yeah!! theyre from various different shows :3 My Melody (the one that showed up in the video for a few seconds) is in a few different things, but I know her from the show Onegai My Melody!! :D you should watch it if you like sanrio btw, its a very good show‼

this isnt supposed to be rude, im just trying to possibly help!! i see where your coming from, but i believe youve been misinformed somehow. kawaii translates to cute, and core is used for aesthetics. saying cutecore is the same as saying kawaiicore, really. if you look up kawaii youll see the same aesthetic as cutecore./nm/info/lh

@@silly_bunny985 I am not confused at all!! I understand where you are coming from but if you just search up cute, it will make a whole bunch of things pop up. If you search Kawaii then this pops up.! That is because Sanrio is from Japan and so is this aesthetic. (again this is not supposed to be rude.)

@@XBlossomPlays yes, sanrio is from japan. i am a fan of sanrios shows and movies. but is it wrong to say that sanrio is also considered "cute" and not the japanese word for cute (kawaii)? its the same thing as far as i can tell. cute = kawaii and kawaii = cute. cutecore and kawaii are the same thing, and i dont see a difference since cute is just kawaii in english. also, this is a music playlist!! its called "cutecore playlist" because the music in it is cute. (again, not trying to be rude.)

So, I saw this comment, and I don't usually take things this seriously. I'm not like, *dead serious* about this, but I feel it's important as someone who's most likely older than you, to inform you on this. I get you're trying to be helpful, you most likely learned that info somewhere like Tiktok or Twitter - somewhere that spreads misinformation. But Bunny is just using the japanese word for cute, translated to English because that is the language you speak. Of course "cutecore" is an Americanized version of the Japanese Kawaii subculture. Because we are in America. (Or at least, me and Bunny are.) I fear it would be cultural appropriation to claim the Kawaii subculture, something started in Japan, and then put "core" at the end: something created in America. *That* would be Americanizing it. That would be wrong. But using our translated words, and using cute things is something normal. Sanrio is cute. Yes, Sanrio was created in Japan, that doesn't mean we must call it Kawaii as white Americans. I feel that would be a tad bit strange. Saying Kawaiicore is 100% Americanizing the Kawaii subculture. On a similar note; saying cutecore is okay, because that's not even the same thing. Cutecore is an aesthetic. Kawaii is a Japanese subculture. Aesthetics are just something you can like, wear, etc. Subcultures come with a thought process. Like Goth, that's a subculture. Emo = subculture. Grunge = subculture. Kawaii = subculture. Harajuku = subculture. All of those are subcultures, and I fear Gen Z - I'm a Gen Z myself, btw - is trying to take subcultures, and label them "aesthetic". Taking their meanings, their beliefs, and watering them down to be something it isn't. That's the other flaw with your argument I'd say Bunny is in the right. You're not necessarily in the wrong, but at the same time, I feel you are a younger person who just doesn't understand the nuance to certain subcultures due to social media teaching you these things, instead of learning from people who are in the Kawaii subculture, or the Harajuku one, similarly. When I was about... 13-14, I was exploring the Kawaii and Harajuku subcultures, and I learned a lot. I'm not an expert by any means, but cutecore and Kawaii are totally different things to my understanding. I'm in a couple different subcultures - Goth, Scene, Coquette, and Grunge. Very different things. The difference between an aesthetic/core and a subculture, is you really don't have to dress to fit it. It's a set of beliefs and standards as well. (Not religion, though.) Kawaii comes with this belief: Enjoying the small things and being positive and happy. While yes, many use it as an aesthetic - which it can be - it's originally from Japan, some word turned into a fashion and music style. Just like Grunge, a movement started by music, a word attached to it. It comes with a few different beliefs, but to simplify it: Everyone is equal, but bad people aren't. They shouldn't be included. Love everyone. That's the best way I can describe it in a short manner. But now, people wear Nirvana t-shirts and call it "preppy". Completely destroying what the big Grunge bands stood for. That's kinda similar to Kawaii fashion. People sort of... Americanized it, and made it into an aesthetic. I dunno, maybe I'm pulling all of this information out of my ass and I don't know what I'm talking about, but from what I've learned from Kawaii, and what I learned from Harajuku, + being in a few different subcultures, I felt I would share my.point of view on this. I know this was a lot for just "call the playlist kawaiicore instead of cutecore, you're Americanizing it" - but in short, adding core at the end IS Americanizing it. Cutecore and Kawaii are different, anyway. Sorry for the whole BOOK. But doing some reading never hurt anyone, anyway I suppose 😭🙏
