That little mill is sure handy to have around!! It's amazing what an old junky pine log can be turned into when milled!! Way to go my friend!! Stay safe!!

Hey Wood Guy, just found your channel. Just put a downpayment on an wm xl 25 in Wood Village, Oregon. Its going to be in Stevenson, WA. Sawing some Doug fir for a summer cabin, an outdoor stage and some other projects. Your videos give a good realistic idea of what these small manual mills can do. I've had an LT 10 on the East Coast since 2010 and continue to enjoy sawing my own lumber. I'm going to be 60 this year and only wish I got my first mill at your age. I look forward to watching you build your business. Good luck and God Bless. Peace bro. Charles.

🧐🧐I have 🤷🏼‍♀️ you are capable of building anything. I’m sure it will be great. I can’t wait. Senior firewood hound can’t comment he has no cell service 🤪🤪

I just love the look of true dimensional rough cut lumber. At some point I'll have a mill and be able to saw up all the lumber that I need. I get so many good logs from my tree guy that I could mill some serious lumber. I'm gonna guess you're building a sauna! Or a giant crib for thatwoodbaby.

Having both a sawmill and firewood processor one then has the dilemma picking and choosing what to mill vs make firewood from.
@challe_challe3622

do you roughly how much wood went to the shed, and roughly how long did it take to saw it? really impressive, keep i up!

One can never have enough 2 by dimensional lumber for building projects on your property. Don't forget to cut stickers so your lumber can be stacked properly to dry. Be sure to run the slab cuts through your firewood processor for outdoor campfire wood. They cut up quick and easy.

Use the first cuts off of Woody for camping wood. Just cut it into the 16” chucks then split it up.

Looking good with that new machine ! Grabbing those logs with the thumb like you should be.... ALWAYS use the mechanical advantage whenever you can.. will save you time and possibly damaged equipment or worse injury to yourself

Great video ! I don't know anything bout sawmills. But I do have a question. After your first cut why don't you put the flat side down on the bed to make the second cut ? Thank you for your videos I do enjoy them

Great work man. It’s kind of a bummer so many folks poopoo pine. Some species have a higher yanka rating than dougfur for building. There’s an old technique for harvesting pine to make it harder. It’s somewhat of a long process. About 12 months. Great content. A few of us are wondering how many man hours you got into that lumber (just the milling part).

Do they stay pretty straight? Is that from letting the pine dry? I've cut some pine with a chainsaw mill and it really bowed out every which way.

Do you sell lumber and if so do you dry and plane the boards first? Also I saw you trimming the boards down, Do you have less waste if you do that rather than just measure out what the dimensions your cutting after your first two cuts?

You could have gotten that log right there with that lift right there. Just tilt down stomp and pray it spins and rolls exactly how you want it then you gotta get off the forklift, wrestle the log,run back to the lift and tilt up,run back to the other side of the log and heave it on the fork, run to the other side and heave it on the fork , cuss at your boss because you gotta stack 20 foot timbers alone all day because people are not working right now. Then get on the lift, sigh, wipe off the sweat, struggle with the stupid e brake that sticks every time, put in reverse, wait for someone behind you to stack 50 2x8s all by themselves, undo e brake again, load up log, don't get tip, don't get raise, don't get new e brake..😵😓
