Hi Mitu! when you are going to cut 60° thread, you may set the compound rest half the included angle of the thread or 29 to 30 degrees to right for a right hand thread, and to the left for a left hand thread. But the reading in the compound rest of the lathe is 59 or 60 graduations. But since your lathe machine has only 50 graduations on its compound rest, you may need to use some aided device such as steel protractor to set the compound rest to the required angle. @@profjohnny8624 yes, you're right, it's engaged at least twice the other method. I doubted because when the carriage is return omg to right side of worpiece , since the cutter is not cutting and there is almost no load on the split nit and screw.

Hi Anthony! 1.85mm dahil nakaset ang compound rest sa 29°. natural lang na hahaba ang distance mula sa zero degree na set up na may distance o lalim na 1.62mm. kung paano nakuha ang 1.85 ay kelangan gamitan ng Pythagorean theorem. C=1.62/Cos29°

Sir tanung kulang po bakit po ba naka set yung compound rest as 29degrees pwede po ba kahit sa 90degs. Ang set up makakuha parin po ba yung thread ng tama?

Hi Pogz, maraming dahilan kung bakit pumapatong ang pakain. Una, baka metric ang lead screw ng lathe mo at ang thread mo naman ay inches. Pangalawa, baka ung nakaengaged ng worm gear ng chaising dial ay sa lead screw ay hindi tama ang number of teeth. Tingnan mo sa plate na nasa harap ng chasing dial kung anong number of teeth ang worm gear para sa picth ng thread na gagawin mo. Pangatlo, Baka mali ang LETTER or NUMBER twing iniengaged ang chasing lever sa tapat ng reference line. Hi Ramil, saan ba nakalagay ang sinasabi mong 1.87? wala ako makita sa video, baka ung 1.85 ang sinasabi mo which is the DEPTH SETTING of the compound rest set at 29° when cutting 60° external thread. Gamitan mo lang ng Pythagorean theorem. Ang actual na depth of the teeth of thread is 1.62mm. kung sinet mo ang compound rest sa 30° ay magiging 1.87 ang depth setting ng compound rest.
