Cutting and Taping a New Hockey Stick

Netted a Hatty my first game with the stick. Although we only had 6 guys show up because of bad weather and hunting, so I did get a lot of ice time, haha. Good stick, I took a lot of slashes and didn't mind one bit!

Haha the ol spiral tape job. My dad used to make me use that, hated it and needless to say I don't use it anymore.

Jeremy, what are your thoughts going from the Sakic curves to the straighter/lower Modano curves? Which one do you prefer?

Hey Jeremy! I noticed how you started to tape the stick blade from the heel to toe, if you tape it from heel to toe then when you are taking wrist shots the puck will catch in the tape more. but if you tape from toe to heel when you are taking wrist shots then the puck will go with the grooves of the stick!

Hey Jeremy you said you cut your stick so it's about chin height with your skates on. Besides that being a personal preference is there any reason why you like that length? Better stick handling? Helps protect the puck? Etc. What do you think are the pros and cons? Thanks.

Jeremy why don't you like to take your GoPro and give us some in-game footage. The tip's and tutorials you give us are great, but having some game footage and then maybe even some post game breakdowns of certain plays would be awesome. In my opinion when I try out the new things I learned in an actual game it's actually more valuable due to multiple factors, most notably the speed of the game. Yes you can work on a quick release all week long, but until your playing in a game and have a d-man or two in front of you, then you don't get the actual feel for the necessity of the release.

Is the colt 2 with steel on the blade make the stick heavier than the colt gen 2 raw?

Would I still have to tape the cold 2 even though it has that steel blade?

Just wondering out of curiosity, what flex do you order and like to cut it too? im 510, 160 pounds and i like an 87 flex and then cut to my lip.

I feel like I have actually been breaking a lot of sticks lately which sucks. I had a All Black Hockey stick for awhile but that too just bit the dust. Just ordered another one. You can't beat the quality for the money. What do you think about them?

You taped it backwards... You should tape it toe to heal so the puck rolls of the blade better for a more accurate shot that doesn't flutter like a butterfly in the air.

it bothers me so much that people tape the butt end separately from the handle. I know it's player preference but it just really bothers me. It looks like a goalie stick. Cool story but I tape my handle and butt end together, it transitions from the butt end to the handle.
