Today we're cutting back perennials in fall, digging dahlia tubers and sending them off for propagation, and planting the final spring blooming bulbs in my garden. At the end of the video, I noted that I leave gladiolus and calla lily corms in the ground in 6b. This is contrary to what most books and websites recommend. Most growers say that glads are hardy to zone 7 and calla lilies are hardy to zone 8. However, I have been leaving glads in the ground for 15+ years, and calla lilies in the ground for 4 years without loss. I am in a rainy climate with snow and ice. Zone 6b. Please take that information with a grain of salt and consult with your local gardening friends before leaving these corms in the ground.
