The Viral Bangs video was how I found you. I think the appeal was how adorably nervous and real you were. Seven years later I’m still here loving your content. ❤

Great job. Brad Mondo has a good tutorial on this cut for making it easier if you struggle. Cut your sissors into some Tin foil and it will sharpen them quickly. 😊

You def have the 70s vibe going there. And your hair looks so healthy after getting all those fine ends cut off. It’s important to keep the ends trimmed up even when keeping length, to minimize splitting. You’re so brave to try these new styles!

Yes!! I also have fine hair that gets very oily after a few days. I tried training my hair for 2 years and the most I could get to is 4 days and on day 4 I'd have to use so much dry shampoo it irritated my scalp. It's nice to hear from someone else that this method doesn't work for everyone and that's okay! 😊
@cindland

I have very fine thin straight hair. No matter how nard I try, I can only get to 3 days between washing. I lost a lot of volume after Covid they hadn’t fully come back. So it’s worse than ever. I can’t curl it when it’s greasy. So by day 3 I load up with dry shampoo and then I get an itchy sticky scalp. And it’s so hard to wash it all it so I have to shampoo twice, which in turn washes away the natural oils. So for me, every other day washing is really best. 🤷‍♀️

Your hair looks fabulous, really glossy, I find hairdressers quite expensive here in the UK, for a straightforward trim, but maybe hair needs a good cut every now and then 🥰

literally showed a picture of you to my hairdresser a few weeks ago as inspiration. I think our hair type is similar, straight, oily, and shiny. Mine doesn't take to styling though and blow drying helps only for a short time. I like my haircut, but it is more work to style it and doesn't look as good I think. I used to wash my hair every other day when it was shorter, but now do it everyday and it still looks greasy and bad... need to switch up my shampoo and routine I think.

I remember when you first cut your hair - it was quite momentous! Your current bang trim looks great :) I've tried the once a week washes too & also failed. Fine hair does seem to need more frequent washes. My fine hair & oily scalp seem to be happiest with a wash every 3rd or 4th day, so I've stopped upsetting that balance with further experimentation. Looking forward to seeing your growth journey!

If you want to maintain thickness at the ends, you need regular trims. My hair is a couple inches past my waist now but it's the same thickness all the way down pretty much, because I have the dead ends chopped twice a year. I love the look of 'fairytale' ends where it tapers at the bottom, so once it reaches knee length (if I can get it that long :D ) I'll drop to having it trimmed once a year. Now that you have cut the fine ends off, you should be able to do the same with regular trims :) I love the curtain bangs by the way, they really suit your face

Brittner Alexus has a great video on how to cut your own hair and she explains everything in detail. It's one of the videos from the pandemic era. Worth a watch. I cut my own hair as well and always struggled with the left side 😂 I tried to use my left hand to cut the left side bangs and it was ok. I love these bangs on you, and I agree, much as I also like the way I look with a longer/shorter bob, I still love love long hair and refuse to cut it. 🖤

I also (used to?) cut my hair and curtain bangs myself but eventually decided to go to a hairdresser because I wanted a subtle V shape (I just couldn’t do it myself, it always ended up looking somewhat crooked 😂) and I’m just so happy with how it turned out. I’ll definitely go back in a few months. 😂

I'm so glad to see another hair video! I'm fairy sure I got my bangs cut just after your original bang-cutting video, because I saw how good they looked on you and I have a slightly similar face shape. So thank you for that. Best thing I ever did for my face. I grew them out once since then, had them cut back and I got so many wonderful comments. LOL So, I think that video does deserve the views. It's very genuine and real--though all of your videos are. I only assist with maintaining my bangs and the face framing pieces on the sides. I do not do the main cutting. Too nervous for that.

I can't stress enough how much longer my hair has grown since i started going to the hairdresser's again, after 10 years of cutting it myself! I was shocked! Now i have found someone i trust and i go there every 3-4 months or so, always stressing that i want a micro-trim since i'm growing my hair. My hair is longer than ever. I don't know what i was doing wrong, i had professional hair cutting scissors and everything. I think i wasn't able to cut every single strand of hair all around my head on my own, so some parts were getting cut more often than others? Which created uneven ends. Anyway, keep it in mind cause now i feel like an idiot sabotaging myself for 10 years

i've been recently using more historical hair care methods and i'm able now to go to once a week hair washing, i firmly believe the one cannpt train the scalp to produce less oil through less washing, it just doesn't work like that, i do believe that low poo does require to change one's routine : keep your hair up, comb and brush your hair as much as possible, use less products, wash pillows brushes and combs all the f*cking time and be ok with having oily hair. I has helped my hair a lot but i went on holiday in brittany, their water is much softer so my hair looked gorgeous but i got dandruff for the first time since i was a kid. I hope we'll finally enter a time period when people learn to listen to their body rather than adapting mindlessly what society deems "proper haircare" there are just so many factors surrounding the way scalp health works that one needs to build habits from experience rather than from what one has been told

My hair grew so much during the pandemic that I just kept growing it to see if I could still grow to waist length. It's already there but I have waves and curls so it looks about 3-4" from my waist. I'm having a similar experience in that my hair feels/looks thinner at the ends. When I braid now the end of the braid is much thinner. I always had way too much fine hair so I'm not missing that. However, I don't want to have super long hair if it looks scraggly on the ends. Will decide the length I want to stick with soon just because growing it right now is fun.

Ive got an oily scalp as well. What Ive figured out is that when I eat higher fatty foods, oils, processed fatty foods, etc my scalp gets oily way faster than when I reduce fatty foods. Big difference, I can go four days without it getting oily. Love it when I know whats effecting the oil production. Seems like my body is saying "EXCESSIVE HIGH FATS!" and purges it through my skin. I think we can forget that the skin is an organ and its trying to help get rid of some stuff cuz the internal body has too much and needs to dump the rest

@Fyrn33
@Fyrn33 Год назад
You're not suppose to wash your whole head of hair. You just wash your scalp and new growth of roots as that is where the oils lay. When you rinse, the shampoo that runs over the mids and ends is sufficient to wash away dirt/oils. As for conditioning, it's the mids to ends that really need it rather than the scalp and roots. Every hair type is different and times between washes will be different for everyone depending on preference and hair type.

If you want to get past the point that your hair is breaking you need to wear it up. Your hair is breaking at the same point because that's the length that rubs against your clothing, gets caught in bag straps, against chair backs etc. Ponytails are good till you can bun it. Torrin Paige has heaps of videos on stying buns and long hair care.

I don't want to overstep boundaries so if I am with my question don't feel like you have to answer. but I was wondering, how it is with your mental health and if it is also better now/do you think that also correlated to your hair thinning out. I have noticed that when I was in the deeps of my mental health struggles (burnout and add etc) my hair also thinned out a lot, as in a lot more fell out in general but especially at the uhh... ?inhammen? ( ah it's called coves XD). Not to negate any other factors but I'm actually very curious.
@Loepsie

I haven't noticed a correlation there myself. Definitely considered it as I know it's a possibility but it doesn't seem related in my case! I did start growing grey hair during the pandemic though, much earlier in life than all of my family members 😅 I'm convinced that was stress-induced

my hair is currently around the same length as yours (maybe a bit longer) and i've been hackig at it for the last few months (want to turn my overgrown curtain bangs into a horseshoe haircut) i manae to have a great looking back hair but it was 3 cm longer than the front, i chopped them off from the front to the back cutting everything needed to have it looking like i want to and tthe method i was using made my back hari look horrendeous (i ended up using the beard/babushka self trim method) it gives me a way too choppy and a bit too blunt of a cut, but i realised that this length is the absolute shortest i can do on myself your hair looks much thicker than before and i think it's because of the professional cut last summer my hair looked super thinned out and bland, i had a professional cut in october and my hair was the thickest looking i've had ever and it grew thick as well. I started chopping at it since late april and i doesn't fall quite right. I wanted the dresser to cut my hair to pretty much your current length in june but i got ill so out of respect i didn't go and she retired that same month. the only cut i had from her so 80s than when she cut it for me

I always used temporary dye that fades after a few washes, so even if the colour didn't fade completely it'd be similar enough to my own colour that I could simply grow it out and you'd barely see there was a difference there. The only permanent dye I ever used was henna and that doesn't drastically change your hair colour either (at least on dark hair), so I'd just let that fade and grow it out as well. It's never really been something I've had to worry about as the dye would always fade back to more or less my natural colour. I'm sure there's much more to it when there's a bigger colour difference but I don't have any experience with that myself, I'm afraid!
