The amazing thing is that you would come here as a visitor yet you will never leave without being offered food and drink. The way people in Eastern cape have the spirit of Ubuntu ♥
It seems they are punished for exercising their right and freedom to choose where they want to stay. No matter how much it cost to send services to that area...ayinolinganiswa nobomi babantu nee future zabantwana ezimoshakalayo. Imali ihleli ityiwa njee even...Millions...now xa zisiya ebantwini yincitho...eloxesha multiple millions ziqhele ukubiwa by few individuals. Haai justice please. This is violation of human rights.
Sodolophu is talking nonsense,R23 million is peanuts,he could have easily used that infrastructure grant to construct that bridge,he could have done it in phases, spend atleast R8mln each financial year, the bridge would be long complete by now.I'm appalled and disgusted by the lack of foresight and incompetence in the province.
But it doesn’t make sense to spend 23m building a road for 23 households, when they can be relocated to a village with infrastructure, amenities and an RDP house. I understand our government failed our ppl but then we need to be realistic
Akasakhumshi nje lo Sodolophu ethetha into engavakaliyo phofu abe ebuzwa ngesXhosa. Akunzima ku Rhulumente we ANC. He talks about millions of rands kodwa inkonzo Dololo!!! Yhini abantu bade basokole kanje
am hoping to see a feed back for this community if government already assist them, its so bad as am seen children's going so long for education, dead people without transport and water problem
Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki both born and raised in the rural EC, they did not tackle this challenges facing their own people... I am not a prophet, but I don't foresee any development coming to this village in a century to come
I heard him say the community rejected relocation proposals, I heard him in 2014/15 (or sometime there), the cost of building the road would amount to 23 Mil, while the municipality was getting 60 Mil MIG, I heard community members say they will never leave the area, sometimes we are just being too hard on the government, relocation is the only feasible option
It is true that the People are suffering, but if indeed they were offered a chance to relocate, then how can 1 blame the government, I'm usually critical when It comes to the government, but if it's true that road construction was gonna cost 23 M, when the municipality was getting 60 M for MIG, then relocation is the most fiscally sound option, but the people apparently rejected it, I heard some of the interviewees saying they will never leave the place even if they are offered RDPs elsewhere, the what do u want the government to do?
If it would cost R20m+ to deliver services to that community, the government could divide the budget yearly. It was easy for them to adopt the community’s decision cause it would save them money and will give them excuse to share to the media. They can do the work but they don’t want to because it does not affect them directly. Trust me put that municipal guy with his family at that community, you will have a budget for the road and a bridge in less than a year. We have seen it with the COVID19 pandemic, government is capable of working out a plan they just don’t want because it does not 1. Benefit them 2. Affect them.
This is really heartbreaking ,the community came in numbers thinking they’d get help😭or at least make their ordeals known to the nation🥺.The ANC is net a bunch of goons in expensive suits.how do they sleep at night knowing that there are people who live in such a state? This situation is dire and it’s the worst of it’s kind🤮😭.
We are the government. What yall talking about. We should force the representative of government to reach out to our people in difficult circumstances. We are the government, stop giving yall powers away. We should hold these people accountable.
Can we talk about the mayor and the unnecessary English, yehaake usodolophu neslungu and big words. Akho ne sense ke nakulento ayichazayo, bubumenemene bodwa.
What a heart breaking episode of black South Africans suffering under the so called democracy 'ANC' government, how could you easily say people must leave their ancestoral land nd go where you like... That's pure nonsense... 😡😡
The people are not poor here, the people lack basic services: Roads, Purified water , Transport and Electricity. Notice how these people are not demanding houses and jobs.
As much as this is very difficult and sad but I think the people should really consider relocating, they must think about their children, this has a devastating impact on their education because if they continue staying there it's just going to be a continuous vicious cycle
In essence the Mayor is saying he cannot do anything for the people of Mpindweni. These people are basically forced to move from the land of their great grand Parents because the government cannot provide them basic necessities? How is this democracy different from the apartheid? Abantu bakuthi kodwa kudlaliwe ngabo, this is sooo painful to watch
I strongly doubt that this village will get any services from the government i.e ANC but our people still vote for them with the hope that things will change 💔💔...🚮
Painful situation they live in, something must be done to assist this community, if the kids are allowed to grow like this, their lives will be thesame like their parents, it won't change, they need to be assisted now not later.
SARS is incredibly efficient regarding the collection of tax money. The problem is that tax money is wasted due to the high level of corruption and incompetence in government. 26 years on and people still don't have running water? It's very unfortunate that state funds are wasted/stolen through corruption and that those who are guilty of this rarely face the consequences.
Ngibuka the incompetence of the highest level at the local government, as well as the provincial government. Where umaspala engakhoni kumele abe nayo indlela yokukhuluma ne province ukuze asizwe...
What a sad story, I even wonder if this people are even going to receive the Unemployment social relief grant through this hard times of the world, is it really the 26 years of Freedom with the "A Better life for all" Slogan? that we keep on voting for...
This should have been attended to urgently. The thing in South Africa a situation has to affect the pockets of the rich before is considered urgent. Billions were invested in Corona because the Rich are losing Income. If this money was available before corona why could they not give it to the betterment of such communities. It is unfair that priority is given to the privileged. Ramaphosa and your team you must do something about this...!!!
Hay sodolophu I budget ingonela maan if ningamane niyicutha kancinci kancinci lendlela ibinode iyofika empindweni. Qha nje anizimiselanga. Cuthani kwezi million zincinci.
Why does our tax money never reach people living in these conditions. It like they are forgotten. How heart broken. So many funds in SA are looted and a blind eye is turned everytime. If no one ever goes to jail it will never ever stop. Our people are suffering.
