Testing my Bosch GKS 55+ GCE circular saw with variable speed for cutting mild steel: square tubes, threaded rod, sheet. I am using a Bosch Expert Steel saw blade ( id: 2608643054 )
*Works great **MyBest.Tools** . Little lacking in power. You just have to cut a little slower. Compare to Rockwell pretty similar experience but cheaper price tag for this one. Love the lightest. Cuts accurately too.*
Hello Razvan, first, thanks for your video. I currently bought the Bosch GKS 55+ G circular saw and can´t figure out how to read the parallel stop. The only mark is at the bottom plate, but there is no mm scale on the down side of the parallel stop. Can you help me since you used your parallel stop for the first cut in the video? Thanks :)
Hi Nick, congrats for your saw. It is a good one, I use mine for all sorts of stuff and it serves me well. About the parallel guide, the scale starts with 0 at the inner edge of the guide, so you can see the distance between the guide and the blade. The problem is that at the blade side there is no notch/stop/edge/cut/etc to check exactly where the scale is tangent to the blade. Because of that reason I don't use that scale, but I turn the saw upside down and I use a ruler with which I touch the blade to measure the distance to the inner edge of the guide. In that way I can adjust the guide with about 1mm tolerance.
Razvan Aciu thanks for your quick answer, I really doubted my skills for using the saw :D good to know that this is a common problem, but really strange that there aren't any comments about this problem in the whole internet. I think I will buy a parallel stop with a scale on the back and then cut the mark on the bottom steel plate a little bit bigger.
