@@CraftingwithWine so how did u get it from design space to in your hands. Like whats the steps missing from your camera not recording. Ive done everything you stated in the video, but to get it "printed out" did you select send to printer or keep it on the option for your cricuit? Did you use poster board? Or cardstock?
My daughter was Elmo for her 2nd Halloween too!!! Ugh! Now she’s a big independent 3...soon-to-be 4 year old!!! 😩 Shes still darn cute as ever tho! And I still have her Elmo costume - there’s s little button clicker hidden inside chest pocket.... my little Elmo instantly turns to TICKLE ME ELMO!!!! ♥️ Thanks for tutorial!!!!! 💜
I am a little confused I lock the height at 32 then make him smaller to slice on both red and black when all slice is done do I go back to height change to 32 again after I put his eyes back in his head and then cut
Hi..loved your tutorial..do you recommend just buying colored card stock when making big pieces or printing with ink and then cut. Thank you This was so helpful😊
It would have been much more helpful to see how you actually put the puzzle together after watching many minutes on splicing that most people already know.
I don't have an Explore yet so am wondering if it doesn't use the 12x24 mat. If it does, wouldn't this be easier to cut out using that or is there a catch?
Not a helpful video for someone just learning how to. It was a lot of clicking and going to your personal settings that I am not aware of. Then I did not get to see where the machine cut the actual project. Sad face.
Thanks to her videos I'm a pro now!!! Yes is a lot of clicking but that's all you need to know when you make a project like hers! Now I make anything bigger then 35 inch projects. And they all love it!!!!!!!thanks
Laurie Martin the biggest was 37in tall and it was Mama Imelda from Coco. I really love making it. I will remake it for my self "well my kids" ☺️ after you do 2-3 projects you will find short ways to do it. Right now im working on a 25in tall LOL Dolls.
Laurie Martin also if you want to make something bigger, make sure the colors are different and not all over the image! I personally don't like putting same color with different cuts and put them together. Because you will see the difference on the cuts, I always make sure the cut fits the whole color that goes on the svg project. Either on a 12x12 mat or 12x24 mat, for biggers cuts on same color I use 12x24 cardstock.
can you not just cut the black image in black once it is all sliced and then cut it in the red that way all of the pieces will match. Or do you have to slice the black for the back and then the red for the top. Is there a size difference is that why you have to cut both layers separately?
I cut both layers because, first I need the black for the opening of Elmo's mouth and secondly, it makes the large die cut more stable. Hope this answers your questions. Cheers, Carolyn
The cut that is already sliced can you not use it for the black layer and the red layer, or must you cut and slice the black layer for the black and cut and slice the red layer for the red paper. Simply can you not cut and slice Elmo One time and then cut the black paper with that image and then the red paper with that same image? Hopefully that makes sense.
Tracey Garth That's an excellent question. I wonder if you could save time by ungrouping and keeping the biggest layers in place as you slice to cut down on some of the work. Hmmm....
I think the reason they need to be cut separately (from what I've seen in other videos and on the internet) is that the black layer is usually slightly bigger than the color layer to help create a black outline once everything is pieced together.
I have a question for you. Why do you have to high light the Elmo's shadow with the boxes to slice him. Is this something you have to do in order to get him that big. I'm asking because I'm new to this. I have a Cricut explore air. That my husband bought me almost 2weeks ago. So I'm still new. TFS
+diana torres You have to highlight the two together, to be able to slice. You can only slice a layer at a time. Congrats on you air. You will be a pro in no time!
