The first few days in braces can be rough, so here are 3 tips to help with the pain! #shorts #orthodontist #dentist #braces #bracespain #bracesguy #braceface #adultbraces #pain
That's a little over the line but alright. I got braces yesterday and i am (according to my orthodontist) in the most painful period. I think the pain is actually liveable and not as bad as they say.
I lost so much weight after braces, because I couldn’t eat properly. Liquid diet didn’t do justice to me. I looked like I was sick. After my braces came off, I finally ate properly and looked normal. But it’s worth the nice straight teeth I have
I ate before the pain started kicking in then took painkillers but the first night of pain was the worst for me. No amount of painkillers took the pain away, it literally felt like this huge pressure in my mouth and I couldnt sleep but then the next day all I did was sleep and when I woke up I could eat again and painkillers were working. Teeth will feel a bit sore sometimes but nothing major, and you might get some spasms in your jaw for a few days
I had braces in high school and I remember having a breakdown bc I couldn’t even eat spaghettios. Recently my step dad got braces on his bottom teeth and he was nervous so he kept trying to drink it off. He was pretty tipsy so when I showed him what the wax was for it was so funny. 😂😂😂
It's my 2nd week with braces and I'm finally able to chew without wincing (too much). It was humbling that first day cos I left the dentist's without any pain, drove home still feeling okay. Then 2 hours later settled in to eat my pasta and immediately my teeth told me "this is what people talk about when they say braces pain" 😢😅😅😢 The chewing pain is the worst.
i got my bottom on today- Istg my mouth feels like a candle- 😭 but! Eating pudding makes everything feel a lot better. this may sound weird but if you hold the pudding in your mouth and put it over you braces, It makes them feel like there not there
I had to commit a noodle crime just to eat ramen when my braces got tightened for the first time 😭 I had to smash the noodles into small noodle pieces and then cook it
Something that works for me is eating somewhat chewy foods like breadsticks before the pain starts so it’s not as bad and take pain meds before the appointment
If you are getting braces soon, and you are worried about it hurting super bad I have a couple tips! • Take advil 30 mins before u get them, or right after • Buy ice cream so you can eat it • Try not to think about the pain For me personally it didn’t hurt all too bad, the main concern was the cuts it caused my mouth for the first couple weeks.
Right now I have 8 spacers and they are really painful and uncomfortable but I get braces and a bite plate in 6 days and I’m scared it’s going to be worse
ORTHO DOTS. They stick way better than regular wax. Everyone (at the dental school where I receive my care) told me that braces as an adult would be way worse than they were as a teen. They were right. 😭 I hope they’re coming off in a couple weeks!
When I first got my braces, they hurt so bad. I hadn't eaten anything that day, and when I got home I couldn't even chew a tomato chunk😂 and on top of that, I had these little blue spikes on the back of my teeth, so my teeth couldn't close. For the first couple of weeks, I had to swallow my food whole. Very painful😢
Don’t listen to this guy. You just gotta push through the pain and eat food. It doesn’t get any better so don’t make a bad eating habit just because you can’t handle the pain
Oh no ptsd from my braces. I couldnt eat BREAD like white bread. Couldn’t bite or chew thank god it does go away but then it’s time for the next appt so yeah but it’s worth it it’s just horrible and yeah wax didn’t help cuz my pain was really because of the braces and not the wires poking…the wires were just a fun bonus
I got my braces today and it started to hurt really badly after about 3-4 hours, i used 2 pain meds which didn’t really help and then I remembered that I have a whole bucket of ice cream which I chowed on which really relieved my pain, so this is a really good tip🍦
every single time i get my wires tightened, i take some tylenol the second i get in the car and i immediately go to mcdonald’s, that way i can still eat while it doesn’t hurt
That is actually normal it hurts when it's the first time u take braces but overtime it will just feel like normal teeth when chewing even now I can eat peanuts last time I can't even eat porridges when it's my first time having braces
Just got braces literally yesterday, and YES. It still hurts. (Not too bad tho). So I’m just gonna be sticking to soft foods for a week. I swear to god, I’m gonna be so paranoid about what I eat because I do *not* want to break a bracket. And I’m going to have to wear the braces for 2 and a half years
