The easiest way to cut a small vinyl piece is to go to the Advanced Menu, the Sensor option, and turn off the sensor! That will help you cut even 2x2-inch material.

I love the way you explain everything!!! I just purchased the same cutter and I been having a lot questions on how to use it because I am new with this... what I would like to know is how this it make a square cut around the letter when you sent it it was without a square frame? I missed that part and i cant figure it out :-(

Thank you Griselda. Do you mean the border it cut around the text? I think that is what you are asking. It is called a weed border. You can do it 2 ways. One way is to set it up when you send it to cut. Do you see the tabs along the top just under the properties button? The 4th tab (i think ) is where you set up weed borders. You can do all the way around only or vertical or horizontal cuts within the box. You can also set how far the box is from the design. I typically use .1". The second way is to manually create it in your design in corel or illustrator. I hope this helps

Can you cut cardstock decals using the Cricut mat if the cardstock doesn't have a backing?

thanks a lot, was wondering if this could be possible. Quick note : Place the pinch roller on the side of the mat (where it's not tacky) if you don't want your rollers to become gummy

Does the graphtec ce6000 plus also do perf cuts? Like doing a print and cut where the cut is all the way through the material making for a professional looking final product.

Joseph, I'm sorry I am not sure. I have never used my machine for that. Theoretically it can, but not sure if it is recommended because it would dig into the platten.

Do you have to adjust the pressure of the cutter to accommodate the extra thickness of the matte. Wouldn’t the cutter cut through the vinyl carrier sheet without adjusting the pressure?

Hello Tennessee Wood Signs. Your cutter may be different, but no, I don't adjust my cutter to account for the change in thickness. I use the same settings as I would without cutting mat. Mine does not cut through and cuts exactly the same. I hope this helps.

Do you know of any grid template to use in the software for easier placement on the mat? Looking to cut several different small vinyl and of different colors. Using a grid aslong as the blade starts in the right spot and wherever the vinyl is on the grid matches up with the grid on the computer it should work perfectly.

Do you have to adjust your force? or can you leave it set as you were cutting regular heat transfer vinyl? please advise?

When cutting small pieces , you use same settings as rolls. The most important thing is to make sure your small piece is securely stuck to the cutting mat.

I was wondering exactly the same, since I just started with plotting vinyl and I have only been working with rolls. So even though the total of the mat + the vinyl is quite a bit thicker than without the mat, you don't have to adjust anything like the depth of the knife of the pressure?

Hi I have an old graphtec fc700-75 and I’m trying to cut some iron on vinyl but when I select the sheet option it seems not to recognize the command and it just starts rolling the media out no matter the length and it just keeps rolling with no more media loaded And the thing is that it doesn’t do that when I select the roll option Do you have an idea of what could be wrong? I’m sure is a setting Any suggestions? Thanks

When you select sheet the ce6000 will roll to each end of the material to determine the sheet length. If you select roll it only finds the beginning of the roll. I know this is a year old but I cant help myself.

I have a graphtec fc8600 and I am not too sure how to get it to cut small letters like that.

Sadrac, I am not familiar with the FC8600 but it looks similar to my Roland Versacamm 64". I would imagine that it would be similar to what is in the video, you would just need to remove the pinch rollers to accommodate the smaller mat.

I am sorry, I am not familiar with the model of printer you are talking about. You just want to make sure you mat will fit and not slip and will hold your vinyl pieces enough to not move when cutting.

Hi Brenda, You set it on the cutting mat exactly as I did here. The only difference is you change your cut settings for vinyl.

I always wondered why or what the use was with using a cutting board with a graphtec. You can actually do the same exact thing without a cutting board. If this is used for doing micro fonts then im heading to buy a cutting board now.

This is used when the strips are too narrow or short to fit through graphtec. This will let you use scraps for small pieces. Thanks for watching!

@@mensanstudios Not to be combative . I have used narrower and shorter pieces. The last bottom grip area on the right allows for the pinch rollers adjusted to the vinyl length needed. I also put a piece of tape over the back sensor.

You actually use the same settings you would use for your vinyl. The mat basically just acts like a carrier sheet. It lets you run smaller pieces of vinyl through your cutter.
