We only had to do like 50 m of this and it was super hard, you must’ve dug and laid hundreds of meters of pipes by now. That’s impressive😮 Just an opinion but you probably should not pour concrete over that problematic spot, I’m sure David could easily make a basic manhole and fashion a wood lid that would look great in the end, like a feature.🙂

What about making a manhole? for rodding and inspection of the tubes.
@DoBeDiff
@DoBeDiff Месяц назад
@@elel928 was considering it but then realised it's expensive and unnecessary if any cleaning is needed to be done it can be done from the start of the pipe and if anything fails we just dig it out and fix it.

not seeing that your question was answered, but yes, sewage drainage lines can freeze. In Texas we had a week of freezing temps and everyone around us had frozen drainage pipes.
@minime7375
@minime7375 Месяц назад
Do you have a standard for depth though? We have 60-70 cms which is apparently the frost threshold. I think he meant the section inside the barn though which is very close to the ground level.

I can always build a manhole (if u have to cut out the bad/ damaged pipe) so then I have access to the connection, IF it starts to leak in the future, so u not have to rip up the concrete floor, just open the cover, and fix it, if needed...

You’re all doing an amazing job and making it look very easy which I know through experience it isn’t This isn’t a criticism , it just intended as friendly advice, where you have any bend in a sewer, especially 90degrees put in an inspection chamber,if the sewer is going to block it’s usually a bend, save yourself more work in the future I look forward to watching you continue with the renovation works 😂
@loodusefilm7881
@loodusefilm7881 Месяц назад
Inspection pipes are also good for flushing sewer system with pressure washer special hose. Though you put all sewer pipes perfectly you still may have places with some sinking and that place may start collecting some stuff. So you need washing your sewer pipes once every 4-5 years. Most important is to know where you pipes are, at moment it's easy but in many years it may be impossible to tell where they are so it's really hard to put inspection pipes there.

Our city will not allow roof drainage or land drainage connect to a septic system because septic systems empty too slowly. In the future you may need to re-route all roof and land drainage into their own line to empty into the ditches or pond. Awesome job on the drain lines though. Work work and more work. Wishing you the best as you continue to build your homestead and life. Cheers

What about roof/guttering connected to water tanks. Where I live in Australia it’s compulsory even a small unit has a small o w allowing for that rain water in the tank to flush toilets.
@DoBeDiff

Yeah but our septic is built by hand with many pipes draining into it from all the gardens and then it leaves to secondary tank!

Cīniņš ar lielo akmeni nebija joka lieta. Ja nu tomēr nāksies ielikt savienojumu, tad nevajag to darīt šajā vietā, bet kādu gabalu ārpus ēkas atrakt vaļā tranšeju un savienot tur - tad nebūs problēmu tikt klāt vajadzīgajā reizē.
