I'm here for all of ya buddy! I appreciate your knowledge and have learned alot from you. I've been running saw for a long time but I was never taught the right or wrong way. Kinda just wing it every time and learned that way. But ive learned so much from you and I will be forever grateful for you and your channel brother. And im a BIG stihl guy but my next saw is gonna be that 562 mark ii! I'm obsessed with it and I'm not scared to admit it haha at the end of the day I don't care what brand it is as long as it gets the chips flying!
Beautiful , I’ve always said a good saw is a good saw. I’m going to pin this comment. It is so relevant. Well done sir and thank you for the nice words.
@BuckinBillyRaySmith your my man! I'm basing my business on faith, love, and veterans and the way you spread joy makes me so happy! I appreciate you buddy. Your reply made my week!
@BuckinBillyRaySmith thank you so much, you make this world such a better place. I watch so many of your videos over and over because not only are chainsaws people too. But your message is always on point! I feel a very similar story with you and your impact on me has been one of the biggest. Again. Thank you so much I am very grateful for you!
Thanks. Jed was a good man. I didn’t know him personally, but certainly appreciated him and his friends. Folks, it only takes one accident and life changes forever: for you, your family, and your friends. Take some time and be careful out there, whatever it is you do! ❤
NEVER to old to learn something that's why I watch BBR . I've been cutting my own fire wood for 44 years now , I'm 72 now and learn something new every day !
Jedd was a damn good man. Humble, honest, family man. Obviously never met him, but he's one of those guys you don't need to meet to know. Damn good man
I absolutely love it when you said, "short cuts will sting you, they will"... Yes sir, I agree, I've found this to true with so many things in life. 😀👍Thx.
The amount of thought and geometry involved in felling trees. Experience is the best teacher. Buckin you truly amaze me. I would have been puckered up tighter than a snare drum, falling that last tree without a wedge
from nova scotia 346xpg my go to saw buckin you have im proved my chain filing so so much i thank you.. i also have 365 special ported with muffler mod 24 inch bar. short man can stand up and buck, i filed this saw with flat file last wheek , wow thanks buckin
Just want to say you inspired me to make my first RU-vid video today! I watched your live and your creativity fueled mine to make a video. Thank you so much man. Seriously the lessons I’ve learned from you have improved not only my skills as a sawyer but helped me with my ability to keep a sharp, running saw. You’re truly an amazing guy. ❤
I’ve had a saw in my hands for the last 46 years….you know, this is probably the first time I’ve heard someone STRESS looking up as soon as the saw goes into the back. RIP Jed …..😢
I'm no professional but I find small wonky trees to be the most difficult. Little to no room for wedges and they always seem to have dog-legs and corkscrews and twists and bends, uneven crowns, and whatever else going on. Very technical cutting. Thanks for the ongoing education, Buck!
Same here. That one was probably big enough but any smaller and if there is any doubt especially around structures and I take that time to tie in a maasdam before I start cutting. To late to be walking a line out once you started cutting the small ones
This is interesting to me. Especially that last tree. Im on the east coast and we are taught to bore cut almost everything. Im not so sure a bore cut would have worked on that tree. It more than likely would have sat down hard after boring out the center. I like the way you cut the upper wood first to sit it down away from the house. Thanks for the video on this. Really got me thinking. 😊
Here to learn! Thank you for the tip, I will be now focusing on looking up more. I have only cut down around 20 trees, learning more and more everyday! thank you for the all the help and being an inspiration for me and many others! You are a legend my friend!
man that's the straights goods. I can't explain how much I learn coming here and its appreciated. I think its time for a "look up!" tee shirt with "figure it out" on the back. Ill take an XL, Love you all!
Outside of my opinion of Stihl saws better and more reliable then Husky(I’ll never be convinced there is a better saw than the MS500i based on power and weight ratio along with the MS261CM) but a cleaned out undercut is probably one of the most important parts of felling a tree. It’s so under utilized and under appreciated in the biz.
I'm here as the experience buckin has is amazing and I'm learning everyday but I am good at looking at the crown as that is drummed into all the time and now I do it automatically
I thoroughly enjoy all of your videos but this specific content, real time instruction, voiceover and watching that stick land within inches of where you said it would go is my favorite. Thank you for all of your time and efforts. Stay safe and God bless.
Hi Billy, I noticed you're using the hdr function for this video. I don't know about the other friends but I find it more relaxing for my eyes when it's turned off... Can the friends who prefer it off maybe like this comment? Would be interesting to see anyway loved to come along the ride in this one too, thx Billy!
Excellent information. It would even be better in person just observing and then getting into some cutting. I’m going to be in kind of the same situation only the trees aren’t nearly as big but still the same process has to be done as they are close to a dwelling.
Well. I’m here because I find watching you cut trees is very relaxing. I can’t explain it I have a condition called menieres which is vertigo tinnitus and more. Just watching BBRS relaxes my neck / back and then 💤💤💤💤💤💤👍🇬🇧.
It's great that you found something that helps you feel better ☺️ Buckin' is helping so many people in so many ways. All the best to you, my friend 🙏🏻. Keep looking up 😁 and be kind ❤️
Hey Buckin ! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us ! Whenever I watch a video, I pick up more wisdom from you. Be kind and stay safe !
Hey buckin! Thanks for these calibrations, never sure what I learn from your videos but that's the point - keeps me curious and open about my own machines and technique. That helped a Lot in what's now 10 years of tree work. Love ya, keep spreading the word!
Good morning, Buckin! Love your content brother and been subscribed for a few years so thank you for all the knowledge you have passed to me and others about all things saws and tree cuttin. You're the reason i got more into saws, and trying my hand at porting them so thanknyou sir! I'm about to buy my first "new" chainsaw and have looked and a few new saws. Some sihl's like the ms391,ms362 and ms462 and some husky's,the husqvarna 372xp, 572xp. But then i seen this little monster of a saw and it peaked my interest. Now im not a professional just a home owner but the price is right and the performance looks amazing for what it is. Now i have 3 saws but one is about to give up the ghost, its a 032 and it needs a totally rebuild and the other one is a husqvarna grey top 61 that i put a 272 top end on but im still workingnout the bugs on. Those were my grandpa's. Then i have a ms250 which was my dads saw. Anyways I've watched every video you have one this saw and i like what see. We have a big ole chestnut oak that blew down that im in the process of cutting it up but the other day the 032 about gave up the ghost so i quit using it so im in need of a all around saw to cut that tree up and be able to do multiple things so do you think the 562xp mark2 will cut the mustard?
Great commentary, Buckin' 👌🏻💯, I was following along every step of the way. It's so good to be in the trees with you again ☺️. That saw came along at just the right time, eh? It's funny how things work out sometimes. Keep healing 😊🙏🏻❤️
I’ve learned so much from watching your videos! I’m now using a 28” bar on my Echo 620pw, and got an axe to split with! Your videos are treasure. Thanks
I'm here for the argyle sweater 😀 I guess the buffalo plaid will have to do ! Good advice and you're always good at getting them where you want them ! The big friendly grin and the reminder is always good.
That 562 is running very well! You are trying to teach a trade via RU-vid and explain principles however, as you did in this video, sometimes experience tells you when and where you should break from the normal way you do it. You my friend have so much time behind the saw that you have a feeling and oneness with the saw and the tree you are cutting. I find that looking up is tough because I wanna make sure I am not cutting too much off and have a tendency to not look up enough. Also, people have also said that between each wedge bang you ought to look up as well. Even that field tree shakes quite a bit when you hit the wedge way up high. Thank you for the videos and reminders. Always watching and learning from you. Knowing what to do and executing is the difficult part at times.
Large wood will tell you if you're sharpening right. Small wood tests your ability as a faller. Love to hear your mantra. I am at peace I am not in a rush.
Looking forward for the next one, great videos, work and life advices👍 Love the forest and just natures landscapes This channel become my “The Evening Show”, and as someone said its relaxing too, I can fall asleep even with ripsaw sounds 👍😆
15:48 Thanks for informative videos as always. I'm a beginner that have learned a lot from your videos (everything I know tbh). I would have guessed you started from the other end to keep as much holding wood as possible on the high side. Just to guarantee the tree wouldnt leave towards the house but also start a swing to the side from the low side. Would be interesting to learn more about felling these kind of trees to the side of a heavy lean.
You can really hear that different thumping of the exhaust with it custom now sounds good! Oh also you should mention to the homeowners to clean that green moss off their roof just get it wet and brush it off.
I've been here for gaining confidence of wedging as never fell trees in my life.. ..until winter 2023-2024 as September 2023 my father passed and lelt my mom within fairly large trees close to house as learning process I fell birch, maple and small cotton tree to direction or basically cotton leaning back a bit but I'm strong enough to push 8inch thick tree over the stump just bare handed, thought after that I successfully fell 6 pines (47-63feet high) and all them more or less leaning 45degree to 150degree away of only possible landing spot, gladly no damage for the house or the neighbours happened. Actually I've got lifestyle RU-vid channel and latest video is including edited 63feet pine fell to the spot 😊 if anyone wish to see lucky rookie in action..
Ya that saw is good for what your doing those small trees as we boat know you get into big-fir or the number ones big cedar tree it would be a problem ,and yes look at the crown or get a Serious headache or a broken back as the saying go’s a Widow maker .
Great video, I love these ones. I am learning so much . Curious on wedges, what lengths do u like and why? Maybe in a video? Lovin the same Buckin shirt. It feels good
Would this 562 make a good saw for the farm / ranch? I'm looking for a good saw that can clear large oaks here in Texas but also something that can be used to process a lot of firewood year after year for heating a home. 70% of the trees here are medium size oaks but we do get a handful of large ones ,30" trunks, that need to be cutup for firewood often. I'm debating on this saw or stepping up to a 70CC saw like the 572. And, thanks for actually taking the time to care about us and teaching us how to do this properly so we can avoid injury, it shows you care about your fellow human being. God bless!
Dubl-B Ray......best advice ever: Friends: J.L.U. OR- just call Billy. Full stop. PS: that new hoosk at idle (on my TV) reminds of an old Big Mac pop-pops had way back in Colville WA i couldnt even lift her god it was huge....nice pop in the pipe on the new hoosk at idle she sounds awesum bud, hardly sounds like shes working hope you lover. happy felling n keep stoking them old saws bud yer our last hope for em.
Just at the end of the cut you pushed the non moving bar back and forth were you checking to see if the bar was getting pinched ? Nice informative video 👍👍
