Like 13. Indeed, really cool metal box! It looks like such a neat pen. Yeah, looks like the ink lasts quite a while, and it comes with a good number of refills too - cool! Thanks for the unboxing!

Would like to try it with a grid drawing. 😊

I'm wondering if I could get the same effect with a tattoo gun by rounding down the point of the needle.
@Sandrinesgallery
@Sandrinesgallery 4 года назад
That's certainly something that could be tried. I'm not sure how durable the needle tip is, though. I'm not familiar with tattoo guns at all. But it seems to me like when drawing on the skin, the impact would be a lot gentler than on a paper sitting on a table.

I’ve had 3 now. First one was great so I decided to get a back up. The 2nd, just wouldn’t work so I had it replaced and the 3rd works fine. Not sure what the issue was with the second one, but they replaced it straight away.

They are so much fun. I do have a back up one too.

Mine has just stopped working - how do you get a replacement?

@@loganjohnston6651 the 2nd one didn’t work at all, so I sent it straight back to the retailer I bought it off, they then sent me a replacement.

Did they ever work out the issues with this pen. I am seriously thinking about getting one, because I have severe nerve damage in my right arm (drawing arm) and manual stippling is not an option for me.

What issues are you refering to? I'm not sure there have been any improvements or changes. In fact, it seems to be harder and harder to get refills. But this could be due to Covid.

@@Sandrinesgallery Someone was saying that their is a plastic piece inside that tends to break with heavy use and big projects. I have also heard that someone had a problem with the internal spring after about four months of use.
@Sandrinesgallery

@@EvilMP5 It definitely needs some TLC. I've had issues with the spring too, but a little shaking makes it work again (at least for me). You need to be gentle with this pen. And if you use it for long periods of time, you need a break or your wrist will start getting a bit sore.

@@Sandrinesgallery Sounds good you have me sold. Yeah I won't be able to use it for long periods because of CRPS in my drawing hand. Anything that vibrates power tools, elec toothbrush forget it. I can only handle it in small doses.

That is very cool especially for a timed assignment or working on a large piece. I wonder how it would perform on a hot press board...... I like the review, but when it comes to stippling I like the "one dot at a time" method. It just slows the world down a bit and is therapeutic. ...to me that is ( Georges Seurat most definitely had an influence on me😆😆😆😆). Now if I was working on something the size as the: Sunday on the Island of La Grande Jatte, yeah.....I'd break down and use the mechanism 😆😆😆. Loved the demo.

I think that doing it manually results in a much better drawing. You pick where you put your spots and it's much more precise. AND, I do agree also about the zen factor. I like dots and lines. I love scratchboard for that same reason. Just chilling and making lines. The dotspen is just a fun tool for me, as well as a pen to make me save time.

@@Sandrinesgallery It's always nice to have options. The best part it that whatever we use, they are only tools and not the end all to how we accomplish the project(s) at hand.

Don't buy one of these pens they don't work for very long I had mine a year lucky if I used it 5 times...anyway charged it up yesterday and while unplugging charger the pen came apart pulling the end off and ruining the electronics inside...waste of money folks.
