LONDON ENGLAND July 4, 2018. A must see if you are in London. She can be reached with a short River Clipper Ferry on the River Thames to her dry Dock at Greenwich.
One of the most beautiful sailing ships ever made. Tough and robust. The fastest sailing ship of her time. Reduced to nothing but a tourist trap. What a shame. She should be in a museum for the very best sailing ships ever made.
I’ve got the Revell model! Been on a week! I’m just painting the brown on the outside of the Cabins! Not sure if my patience will last doing the rigging? But getting right into the swing of things! The sailors that crewed this ship must have been very proud coming back from the far side of the world in record time!
@@AirflowNZ :)) It does seem a bit odd though if you think about it. Firstly the very close proximity to wood, in an environment where they would have been very very fire concious indeed, and then the impracticality of using it in any sort of bad weather. I suspect a Victorian period fireplace has been installed because during the restoration the original appliance was missing - almost certainly some form of enclosed stove on legs to keep safe heat clearance and be useable in rough seas.
I suppose as fast as the winds? On building the Revell plastic model....I get more tips and ideas from this video building and painting the model than I get from the actual instruction papers!
