Hello John, fine job as allways, I allways plank alternate sides, but more of old habit then anything Else. Your right once the skeleton is ridgit it really makes No difference what you do, though i'm sure that many "experts" Will disagree with me😅. As ever Best wishes Simon
Hey John. Another new challenge. Hard to believe that they would leave the bow that way. No blocking, no rabbit to set the ends into. Who makes this kit? Don't remember your unboxing. This will be a tough one, Good luck.
Have you considered putting a strip to the rear and parallel to the line at the bow. Would provide another point of gluing for that plank butting onto the keel
I am trying to picture what you describing but i cannot understand it. Putting a strip to the rear (stern?) and parallel at the bow? Can you explain please?
@@JohnsWoodenShips Hi John, I think it means instead of fixing the planks at the bow directly onto the bow frame, add a strip so the ends of the remaining planks have something to attach to. Because once the first 4 rows are fitted, which attach to the small bulkhead, there is not much gluing surface for the remaining planks, although it does seem your chamfering the end of the plank to attach to the bow frame.
@@JohnsWoodenShips I think of it as an alignment guide. The plank would abut against it and against the stem post. After seeing that you reinforce with white glue, probably really not needed.
@@jjones552 oh, i understand, like the OcCre big models who have two big pieces to maintain the skeleton. Yes you can do that but it won't be necessary as long as you don't use nails for the planking.
