Thanks for watching Mad Dog. Even though these guns have a fast twist they can still shoot just about anything well if you find the right load. Have Merry Christmas friend!
Yes, the Wolf and Optima are very similar. Same bore and twist so your results will be the same. I'm sure I could get the round balls to group better by adjusting the charge. I just picked a random amount of powder for this test.
Great video, I was going to test the same things with my CVA Wolf. My goal is to get the same point of impact with both the minie ball and a standard patched round ball by lowering my triple 7 powder charge for the patched ball loads for the faster twist rate. Have you compared the accuracy with the sized minie vs the as cast minie vs the heavy REAL?
@@SuperSneakySteve I shot some as cast when I got the mold out of my other inline. They were hard to load but very accurate. I picked up a .501 lee sizer to try, haven't got to the range yet due to snow so I thought I would check if you compared sized vs unsized. Just got in from casting more minies and am going to run them through the sizer for future testing.
I agree and it was very low recoil. These are non expanding bullets so you're just trying to put a 50 cal hole through the heart and lungs. If you want to shoot further you can always up the charge. Thanks for your comment!
@@SuperSneakySteve I do notice it has a similar to a straight to the Traditions Kentucky pistol actually the Kentucky pistol I believe is a little bit faster so I take it it's all in the powder charge you could probably go up to maybe 75 grains of powder this would be a very good shtf gun since you can easily make most of the components yourself
