It did turn out okay though in the end it's up and running one of the differences is the spacing for the holes with the caliper bracket mounts on the other is the top bracket that kind of holds the speedometer cable out of the way and brake cable but thank you very much for getting back with me and trying to help I hope this helps somebody else

I'm not sure what happened, but I thought someone had asked about the rear tire on my Majesty, and now the comment is gone. If I accidently erased it, even though I'm not sure how to do that, I apologize. The question was do I have a car tire on the rear of this scoot. The short answer is 'Yes'. To be super technical, it's not a car tire only. Back in the day car tires had a 'P' in front of the size of the tire, designating the tire as for Passenger car use. Somewhere through the years the 'P' was dropped and that's why I consider them multi-use tires. The term for using a tire like this on two-wheeled vehicles is 'Darksiding'. It handles a tad different but I got used to it in a few trips and so now it stays. I use this scoot for work commuting mainly and the straight line miles rack up quickly. It's a much softer ride now and I should get about 25-30K miles out of it because of the tread wear rating of 400. Absolutely no loss of traction and after 10K miles so far, it still looks great! The Pirelli tire I had on before was toast at 5K miles! That pretty fast wear and yeah I know there are longer lasting tires but I wanted to try Darksiding to see if it would work for me. It does. My other bike is Darksided as well and all is good with that bike as well. I hope that answers the question, and if you want more info on Darksiding, go to mcdarksiders.com. I'm pretty sure that's the right address but if not just Google it and you will find it. Ride safe and have a good day all!

I wanted to try the sliders out because of all the talk about them being a big deal. They give the scoot a bit of a "crisper" take off and help slightly on the top end. After watching some videos on how they work, it made sense. I use my Majesty mainly for my work commute which is almost entirely highway. After having the sliders for awhile I really don't notice that much of a difference justifying the cost over standard rollers. That's my opinion based on what I'm using the scooter for. Real performance changes come in when you get a better variator and clutch assembly. Very impressive acceleration can be achieved by changing those parts. I recommend checking out majestyusa.com which is the forum for these scooters. Many people can offer good advice and tell you what they have done to get good results. Ride safe!

So you think the Dr. Pulley sliders are worth it? I just bought a 2007 Majesty and was trying to read up on performance mods. Thanks

WHAT is the rear TIRE ?? Rear
@abnerbjorn1106
@abnerbjorn1106 4 года назад
You should button up the variator before you install the big clutch spring. You will have all kinds of slack on the belt, so you know the fixed pulley is being torqued to the boss and not the belt. Why is it laying on it's side?

I have a 2007 Blue Majesty myself with 27400 miles on it. I have been looking at getting a Ram Mount for a GPS. I noticed you mounted one on the center of the handlebar, over the Yamaha Logo. How is that done? It appears to be just screwed into the plastic? Is that working out for you?
@jamesniece5203
@jamesniece5203 5 лет назад
I took the suction-cup mount from my old Garmin GPS and screwed it right over the Yamaha logo, like you saw. It was broken anyway, so I put it to use there. Not a RAM mount, just the stock mount. Actually works pretty good with that older GPS since it's smaller and weighs less than newer ones. It has never fallen off, but I wrap the power cord around the handle bar plastic as an added precaution. I don't use it in the rain since there is no weather protection this way.

Just to let you know I thought the same on the 4th being the same on the 05 is the 09 I even called a dealer the dealer told me the part number is the same from a least from at least 2004 to 2010 but there is a difference the bottom tubes are different I had to take and change out the internal parts in the top end with the other old one so I can make one good one that would work on his 2005

Hey I got a question for you my friend has a 2005 Majesty like this and he needed a new Fork front left I got him one from an 09 will it work on the 2005
@jamesniece5203
@jamesniece5203 6 лет назад
I looked up the part #s on BikeBandit.com and both of those years list the same part #. So, going by that, I would say yes, the '09 fork will work just fine. AFAIK, the only real difference in parts for all the US made models for the Majesty, are the seats, the rear shocks and the clutch. I don't know the exact year when those parts changed, but going from a 3 shoe clutch to a 5 shoe clutch was a good idea. Adjustable preload shocks are a good idea, as well. Of course being that I have an '05, the first US model year, I don't have any of those cool parts. But they will fit if I ever wanted to change them. I hope that helps!

@jamesniece5203
@jamesniece5203 6 лет назад
william cox it's a 165/65 13. About the biggest you are going to get in there without rubbing anything.

just bought a 155/80/13 for $21 on clearance @ walmart...I assume it will fit after my Pirelli wears out..?
@jamesniece5203
@jamesniece5203 6 лет назад
It will fit on the rim but might not have enough room to spin feely in the area. Let's do the math right quick to see. 65% of 165mm is 107.25mm. That is how tall from the inside lip of the rim to the tread is. 80% of 155mm is 124.0mm, making it too tall. If it was me I wouldn't even try it because what I have now is very close in there. BUT......there are no strict regulations on how manufacturers make the tires so their measurements are not exactly the same. You may wanna get a back up in case that one doesn't fit if you are gonna try it. Let me know how it goes for you. Good luck! BTW, I just uploaded a video of me changing the front tire. Oh the fun that was! Check it out it is funny!

It looks like a car tyre. Used if you run a sidecar. I am guessing it is the longest wearer for highway use.

Im wondering about this tire. Is this a law in your country that says you need to use such a tire or is your law so open that you are free to choose your tire? If you have the comparison to a normal motorcycle tyre how is the difference in driving behaviour to this one? I guess it must feel weird. :D

I have a 2005 Yamaha Majesty with some thick oil on my v belt cover what does that mean ?
@jamesniece5203
@jamesniece5203 7 лет назад
Wendell Rucker do you mean the aluminum cover that is over the whole cvt (belt and sheaves) or the plastic cover that is over the whole assembly? The final drive oil is supposed to be the same as the engine oil but if either is leaking you need to find out where. If the leak is in where the belt is, find it quickly as oil will make the belt slip and could possibly eat away at the belt if let go too long.
@Pynaegan
@Pynaegan Год назад
@@jamesniece5203 wendellrucker sounds like he has(had) the same problem I have. Ever since I've owned this machine(one year now) there has been a slow leak from the final drive. (I can't pinpoint the origin) Every couple of months I change the oil in the final drive and make sure that the oil doesn't run out! I haven't found a tutorial for a bearing seal yet.(my suspicion for the problem) I guess I'll be picking up a service manual in the near future. Do you still own/ride this machine?

What type of grease on clutch pulley shaft?
@jamesniece5203
@jamesniece5203 5 лет назад
The service manual says to use Belray assembly lube. I use it for other things as well. A 10oz bottle on eBay was $11 and will last about forever. Really good for kick stand lubing because of the moly content. I use it on my VTX as well. Good stuff.
